Have to say we're in tough based on the pitching matchup.

Someone had to bite the bullet and make the GT.

Very interesting lineup. Dugo on bereavement leave (and won't be back until Tuesday), so Duvall in RF and Duran in CF and Yoshida in LF. Hamilton at SS and Reyes at 2b!!

Against a righty starter, 5 lefty bats (including Hamilton). The other Hamilton is McGuire's replacement at catcher.

Kluber on the 15 day IL, leaving a huge hole in the bullpen, which Reyes will fill when he isn't playing 2b or SS.

I just read that starter lefty Walter, up from AAA Worcester, is in fact expected to pitch today.

Let Devers carry the team on his wallet, er broad back, with 4 for 5, 7 rbi's and 2 HR's. A slump for many is maybe a week or 10 days . Devers last 30 games shows a slash line of .205/.293/.410 (.703 OPS thanks to 6 HR's in his last 117 AB's) .

The reality is that the rest of the team has been carrying him for the 6 game win streak. At least he has started walking a bit , helping his OBP.

With Dugo's unfortunate bereavement , McGuire's 10 day IL, and and Yu Chang's virtual permanent bad wrist, the Red Sox bench is very slim and the MLB virgins showing up are not exactly the highest rated in the land. Garza is is not inspiring , so a win today would be stealing this series which is why our 3Bman needs to show up.

So it is clear that Justin Garza, 29, somewhat short and skinny like Pedro M., cannot pitch anything like Martinez. He has , however, committed the Red Sox Way on pitching to memory. Fall behind early and hope the hitters bail you out.

Per the radio crew, the Sox have obtained Tayler Scott from the Dodgers for cash (Scott was recently DFA’d).

This is a real dumpster dive. Scott’s season and career numbers make Ort look like a Cy Young candidate.

To be fair, who could pitch anything like Martinez?

I was looking for someone with a vague physical resemblance to Garza . The ability to spin a baseball was unique to Pedro.

As previously stated, the active 26 man roster is a short term mess through this weekend and further . Tayler Scott may not be the answer unless depth refers to how low can you go, Chaim ?

June has been Walter's best month so far at AAA:

17K, 4 BB

He still doesn't look like the pitcher they wanted him to be though.

Not every 6 ERA guy can get promoted and pitch well like Murphy did.

Defense has done the Sox pitching no favors this inning.

Kluber’s 8th and 9th on Tuesday woke up the Twins bats.

Story of the year. Otherwise they probably would be 3rd place in the division.

Wil Flemming was just asked the question on the radio:

When do the Sox win? Is it when they hit? Pitch? Play defense? His opinion was door #3, defense.

Casas's reaction time to a hit ball could be measured with an egg timer. Duvall throwing from RF reminds me of Renfroe

Raffy probably should have had the lead off hit as well; not an easy play but one he needs to make.

Sort of fun to watch the Sox on organizational tryout day. Ship them up from Woo, play new positions, act sound asleep . Just move on to Chicago. Giving back to sub .500 teams .
