Tampa's 9-0 record has been made possible by having, perhaps, the easiest opening 9 game schedule in MLB. The SOX will be the best team they will play, so far. And that's still true even w/o Duvall. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

The Sox had a very easy schedule and went 5-4.

The lineup is out. No biggie surprises except maybe Kike, and his 3-28 leading off. The Ref Man in CF batting 5th.

Very weak lineup, which means the Sox will probably win.

Depressing news concerning Duvall followed by having to play baseball in the most depressing ballpark in all of baseball.

But the good part is that the stream I get will use the Rays feed, so I won't have to listen to the NESN booth.

I thought they would capitalize on that and nothing. Tampa has a lot of pitching. I think their pitching staff is better than the Yankees staff.

At least with the 10 million the SOX paid Kike he can buy as many fancy shoes as he wants.

As a hitter Kike's a very good CF. Seeing that he's not playing CF he's pretty much worthless.

Among others who need to step up their game in the absence of Duvall, Turner comes to mind. Kike is a no doubter who needs to come around. Casas and now Dalbec need to contribute. Wong catching more than McGuire or is that an illusion created by not watching every game ? Arroyo, what do you expect from a bench player ?

Taking 2 of 3 from Rays would be a great boost and these dudes need to get in gear against some tough pitching

Some things change: the game is faster. Some things stay the same: HP CHumps are still shite.

Nick needs to concentrate more. Hopefully he gets out of this.

The SOX losing Duvall is like a car engine losing it's turbo charger.

I mean it sucks but is this team depended on one guy?

With Turner's flyball out, this lineup now features 5 hitters at the Mendoza line or way below. The range is Turner at .200 down to Kike at .100. Oh but you say, check the OPS's , a better gauge. Ok, Casas does lead them at .690 (not terrible), getting down to the bottom of the curve with a .420 by Wong. I know, I know, it's early and nothing a couple HR's couldn't cure. Casas and Kike do have 2 each , none of the Turner-Wong-Arroyo crowd have any in 84 AB's

Tampa needs one, maybe 2 runs to win this game. Sox aren't likely to score much. I hope Mayer is really good.

Read Ian Browne's interview with Brian Abraham, Sox Director of Player Development on MLB.com. Makes you wonder a bit about the Sox young guys. I guess Abraham did not want them to get complacent.
