@SoxProspects

Ryan Fernandez pitched an inning in relief for the Salem Red Sox today working a 1-2-3 fifth inning with two strikeouts. He's working his way back from right elbow inflammation that caused him to miss most of last season's second half.

A little early. But I will put him on my Watch List if you like…

But his team flops in the playoffs because it conflicts with the start of his Pop Warner league…

Football is the enemy. But I'm a little old to even watch LL; night games in New England are too cold.

You'd hate Houston, and maybe for many other reasons.

The sports talk shows are all about the NFL draft and have been all winter.

I thought Fernandez was one of the guys you were thinking of protecting on the 40 man?

Looks like the jump he got at soxprospects.com rankings was justified.

He has really looked overmatched early in the season.

Fastball was sitting around 93-94 and then the change up had batters making bad swings. Last year he sat around 90-91 with the fastball!

Yeah, he added velo this offseason. He was an "athleticism guy" coming out of college. Finally a guy that has played up!

He has a good eye, but a really long swing. Needs to adjust to AA and struggled last year as well from what I remember.

Goodrum has a 35% walk rate right now. However, every time he gets called up to the bigs, his k rate increases exponentially. He had a 44% k rate in Spring Training (24 k's) this year too. Last year in 45 PA's, his k rate was 51.1% with HOU!

Keep in mind Bleis .719 ops comes with a .314 BA.

Which alone doesn’t mean much but realize he’s hitting the ball and getting hits. As he physically matures and grows into some more power he could really start to move.

Could be the organization placing a higher value on speed. Which is fine, but speed isn’t worth as much if you can’t get on base.

I think this plays into their love for drafting up the middle athletes. Which has been a focus in the past and returned this last year.

Ferguson needs to improve his batting skills, but he walks a ton.

Rosier and Hamilton are off to nice starts.

Is drohan the run away winner of the April 2023 breakout Red Sox minor leagues star????
