Back in the day when most teams didn't have a 9 or 10 guys in the BP, a player like Duran could stay on a team as a pinch runner.

Back in history, the Sox used to use a SP Tom Brewer as a PR. If you have a running, intelligent SP as a PR then you save the backup bench player . Not sure if any of the Sox SP's know how to run the bases.

The first time Uecker was on the Carson show he told Johnny that when he was a kid the house he and his parents lived in caught on fire. He added that the only thing that survived was the bathroom. Carson asked Bob how did that happen? Uecker replied that the bathroom was 20 feet from the house. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

Buchholz was perhaps the fastest runner on the SOX in his prime.

SOX probably won't get much for JD, so he might as well remain for the rest of the season and hopefully the SOX can get a decent compensatory prospect.

By offering a QO?

To further emphasize the depths of this hitting slump by the whole team, keep in mind that 3 of the 4 runs in last night's fortunate win were on one swing. This team has otherwise generated 1 run at home over the past 14 innings

Keep in mind that after the first place Brewers work on the Sox, we go to Houston for a really good team. Maybe the lineup starts reshaping by then but Story won't be part of it. You have to hand it to him for giving the team a hand

I beg to differ. Those happy meals just scream of quality. If I was trading JD to Taco Bell, then I would agree with you.

Maybe a three franchise deal is In tHe works.

Notice how Vazquez hustled the last 30 feet home to avoid not scoring in case Dugo got thrown out at second. That was good thinking

I was watching that. Not so good thinking that he didn't hustle the first 60 feet!

Ha, ha!

That play at 2nd was much closer than expected.
