Pretty good test for Houck to pitch 3 straight days. Great sweep of a competitive team who played not so great.

Divisional opponent coming up but this team is finally finding its way. Let’s hope they can continue this

Just checked. The SOX had 16 LOB; it seemed like more. That won't play well in Toronto.

16 LOB is OK when you score 8.

Talk about squandering a series. Smh. That’s what the stros did.

They did win 2 out of 3 in Yankee Stadium. Should that be so disappointing?

Terrific win. Hill a little lucky, giving up 4 BB's but getting a no-baloney quality start, but I couldn't be happier for him and the Sox, who have scored the 2d most runs in the AL (after the Yankees) and have the 4th best ERA after the Yankees, Astros, and Rays.

One game at a time.

Watching the Boston/Cleveland series allowed me to see, imho, the two most productive LH hitters in MLB.

Well said.

Lol. Even in the midst of a 31-12 run, people still find something to complain about

Not complaining, Mr Perfect. Just stating that leaving a lot of men on base is not a good habit to get into, especially when playing the good teams in MLB, even though there aren't that many.

Btw, you do come across as a holier than thou; that must be a lot of work.

There's no way you can say what you just said in a manner that is NOT complaining. You're allowed to enjoy life you know, contrary to what so many people might try to tell us these days.

It's a shame you feel that way about me. If you were to meet me in real life, you would probably find that I am quite the opposite. Oh well. Not going to let the opinion of a stranger impact my world

:P

I resent that. It is I, the maxatollah, who is the best of the best, the paragon of paragons, and a really nice person (unless you ask my wife of 58 years).

My only complaint about Talksox is that too few of you realize that. :P

Sports is a good distraction when reality is starting to crumble.

Reality these days is definitely intruding: pandemic, Russia's invasion of Ukraine a possible entry point for WW III, global warming, inflation, red states vs. blue states and all that that implies.

Little wonder that FDR allowed MLB to continue during World War II despite so many good players going off to war.

Baseball is our game, the American game. It will repair our losses and be a blessing to us. You can look it up.

Yeah, let me know when it helps families fill their gas tank and put food on the table. Those losses will not be repaired.

They are when you bet on baseball and win

Well, the quotation is presumed to come from Walt Whitman, not exactly a hard-headed realist.

Baseball fans over the decades have been willing to root for their teams even when gas, food, or even a place to live/sleep is hard to come by. I do not disagree these are difficult times.
