Great way to end a long road trip! 1 hitter thrown by the bullpen and some timely hitting and great defense. 8-2 is the best west coast trip I can ever remember, and I will take it. I would have been ok with going 5-5, based on how we usually play out West. Now we have Oakland, Detroit, Cleveland and the Cubs coming up. Let's make some more headway

I'd seriously consider keeping Refsnyder or bringing up Duran, when Kike returns. Trade or DFA Arroyo.

 

I've been a fairly big supporter of Arroyo, in the past, and as a back-up IF'er he's not the worst utility guy in MLB, but as an OF'er, I agree. That experiment needs to end, and now.

 

With Bogey's status for 2023 unknown, maybe they want to keep Arroyo around, but it's not hard to replace a guy like him, next winter, for a low cost.

I think you can find a replacement for Arroyo fairly easily. I don't think he's really a starting caliber guy. If I had to, I'd just role out the red carpet for a bunch of young guys and let them duke it out for 2b/ss PA's next year. Honestly, I'd consider just leaving Story at 2b for now and think about what the plan would be for Yorke/2b later on. I think you can piecemeal SS for 2023/24 until Mayer is ready.
