Cora didn’t want to take a chance of blowing another game that Nate had pitched good in by the BP.

He also saved the BP. Akin has been one of their best relievers and he got burned in today’s loss. So have full complement of relievers for the night cap to support the kid

We still seem to be on the missed opportunities trend, but a win is a win.

He has pitched 101 pitches 3 other times, this year, including his last start.

 

My guess is, they take it easy with Nate, his next start, if they can afford to do it.

With the bullpen burned out a bit after getting lit up last night and another game today and more tomorrow, this was so necessary…

Obviously Cora has no faith in his BP and rightly so, except for maybe a couple of guys. So, of course, Cora will extend EO and Pivetta as much as possible. The other 3 starters would be successful if they could just last 5 innings.

I'm not sure anyone has been a bigger Dalbec defender than I, but I have to think he is still on the hot seat.

 

The fact that Casas is struggling might help, but he needs to do better than even these last 27 PAs going forward to get his leash shortened or taken off.
