Lyles (3-4) vs EO (1-2)

Kike

Devers

JD

Bogey

Dugo

Arroyo (2B)

Franchy

Plawecki

JBJ

I'm guessing 8 runs s/b enough for the SOX to win this game.

Go SOX!

Theo got most of the credit, but it was Duquette who put the core of that 2004 team together.

In the case of Ortiz, Pedro had more to do with David coming to the SOX than anyone did.

Ted Williams never believed that batters should hit to the opposite field. He believed a batter should pull everything. With that being said, I would be curious knowing how many HR's Ted hit to the opposite field, if any. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

Ted would love Kike because Kike pulls everything. Very rare you ever see Kike get a hit to the opposite field.

Cora has replaced Cordero with Dalbec’s useless bat in the 6th and he hits a Home Run.

Over managing there, because it was only the 6th, but Bobby D did the unexpected, and it worked out.

There was an anecdote about Williams visiting one of the kids on his death bed involved in the Jimmy Fund; kid asked him to hit a homer for him. TW put two over the left field wall.

Thanks; that answers my opposite field question. Btw, I read where Ted visited a little boy at the hospital. The boy wouldn't let go of Ted's hand, so Ted asked the nurse if she could find him a cot and Ted stayed the night with the boy.

I can't say whether that is true or not! I recall (again, from childhood), a variant about Ty Cobb (one of the biggest sh*theads ever to play). He was asked why he didn't have power, and went out and hit a couple of home runs. Then came back saying it was really no fun and not interesting to him; he'd rather hit for average. (I doubt this one is true1)

Well, based on Cobb's history, it's very difficult for him to spike someone when he hits a HR. Spiking someone was the part of the game he probably considered fun.

When someone brings a baby to a SOX game, are there only certain seating locations one is allowed to sit? Or is it just plain stupid to bring a baby to a baseball game?

I was at Camden Yards one time when it was almost 100 degrees with that Baltimore humidity and these 2 jackasses had an infant at the game— maybe 4 months old. The baby was crying the whole time because the baby was probably in heat distress. Instead of leaving and taking the baby some place comfortable, they took turns going under the stands in the shade where it was probably 95 degrees. I was so upset. I wanted to scream at them or call social services. I remember nothing else about the game it was so upsetting.

Stupidity is one commodity this country has no shortage in.
