No one in the pen is reliable enough to lock down saves at a 90% rate. And when tour team isn’t hitting, you need to lock up the games when you are leading.

I miss Papelbon.

Sad, when a troll goes off his medication.

They come out of the woodwork in times like these, then you never see them, when we win.

The problem is, we can't win, so we're stuck with the troll clown brigade.

Time to start scouting the top players who will be in the draft next year. Looks like the Red Sox will be picking in the top three.

This won't be the 1st time the SOX finished last over the last 10+ years. Usually after finishing at the bottom good things happen the following season.

And people keep will saying that closers are not special.

We need a closer badly.

Why not try Houck and end this piggy back cah-cah?

I posted the other night that Barnes should be brought into a close game and Cora does it again.

Cora got tossed in the 3rd. Not his call today.

The Red Sox lead the league in blown saves.

The White Sox bullpen is stocked with high quality reliable arm, even after trading Kimberly. The will be adding Joe Kelly to that pen when he comes back from IL.

I’ve been saying this. This should end the bleeding.

Cora might have to leave starters in longer. We can't even back in to the 9th inning from the 6th inning, let alone the 5th. Not sure we can even do it from the 7th inning!

Then when we get to the 9th, it just gets worse.

Liam Hendriks contract -- three years, $54M -- looks like a bargain right now. Imagine if the Red Sox used Story's $140M on just high-end relievers...

Eck was speculating today on impending salary adjustments -- less for starters, more for relievers; is his prediction credible... or should the Sox just use their pitiful bullpen to open games, and save Wacha, Hill, Eovaldi, Whitlock, Pivettta, Houck, Strahm for bulk innings to the finish?

Idk how someone doesn’t get fired for this pitiful start but whateva. This team is cooked. Will they have a top 5 pick if this continues? Seems like management wants the Sox to be a small market team.

The more Relievers we bring into games, the worse things get. We are sort of going against the grain of the way baseball is played these days.

The biggest difference between this year and last year is that small things during games aren't going our way. Last year, everybody in the bullpen seemed to have a career year, and we got the hits in key situations. If we still got those small breaks in our favor, and paired that with the drop off in performance in the bullpen and with the offense, I think we would be around .500 somewhere. But the bottom line is that the offense has been unacceptable, and the bullpen even worse. But I still don't think this lineup, with this manager, is this bad. I think at some point things have to change.

Good news about that in the long run is that Boston will run Bloom and Co. out of town before they have the chance to make them a small market team

Not management; the owner.

I have worried for the longest time that Bloom and Cora are like oil and water. Bloom wants to build the team one way...Cora wants to manage it another way.

And both are overestimating the talent of their players.

10-18 is unacceptable. This team seems to be going through the motions. They should be much better than 10-18. It seems like i saw no energy or urgency from this team to start the season. Crazy how a season can spiraled in just one month and a couple of days .

The Red Sox record is 10-18. After 28 games in Bobby V’s only season, the Red Sox were 12-16. 2022 is shaping up as a train wreck.

Over the last few weeks in Boston, I've felt an increased sense of desperation attached to the Bruins and Celtics. It seems like Bostonians want to get a championship out of one of them (more so the Celtics) because they know that summer won't be fun, and that fall may not be as enticing either with the Patriots seeming to get worse this offseason.

I would say they are pressing more than going through the motions. My baseball team senior year of HS went 2-23. We had a significant lack of talent, but the more we lost, the harder we tried, and the harder the game seemed. When you are going well, things come naturally. It's hard to kick that spiral when you are losing

I feel like the Celtics are Championship material . Today they showed some fight but Tatum choked big time and let his team down. They can beat Milwaukee but if they lose that series i feel there should be a major roster change with this group. They can’t cut it when it counts.

The BRUINS probably won't win a championship because they just don't have the overall talent of most of the other teams in the PO's, but it won't be because of lack of effort. I know nothing about the Celtics or the NBA, because I haven't watched an NBA game since the late 80's.

JH hired Bloom knowing Bloom's GM'ing history in Tampa. He wants Bloom to GM the SOX exactly like he GM'ed the Rays. Welcome to small-market baseball. JH probably feels that he bought the SOX 4 championships and now it's time for himself to make more money. How SOX fans reacts to this new type of management, well, I guess, time will tell.

Note: Bloom's style in Tampa did make the Rays a consistently competitive team, but just never quite good enough to win a championship.
