f***ing stupid managing. Schmidt was dancing around the fact that he didn’t have a put away pitch and instead he waits til the f***ing winning run is on base to pull him. He’s such a moron

Watching the game , I felt sorry for Schmidt . He has good stuff , but he was a nervous wreck trying to get that last out. It looked like his heart was racing. I don't know what Boone was trying to prove , but he almost blew the game.

His slider wasn't consistent and that is his out pitch. Boone should have recognized that

Weissert is nasty. Hopefully this is just a mild strain. He’s been our best pitcher.

Some are wondering if it's a phantom DL just to keep his innings down.....

Yanks bats exploded. Stanton returns and immediately produces. Beni has caught fire. I like this run, gotta keep it up

You've been all over the map, this season!

Infected tattoo claims Chapman. I’ve now seen it all

With Chapman , you may not have seen it all yet. He seems to have been persona non grata lately anyway.

We drive in 16 runs in 14 innings to start the series. We drive in zero runs the next 15 innings (last nights runs scored on a wild pitch). What the f*** happened?

jackson, you've been a fan a long time. This is how the game is. It's determined more by the quality of the pitching than anything.

Last night's starter for the A's has bad numbers, but he probably had his best stuff last night.

This Yankee offense is feast or famine personified.

They're the highest scoring team in the AL.

They've also been shut out 11 times. Compare that to other AL East teams:

Rays 7

Jays 7

Orioles 7

Red Sox 3 (LOL)

In the words of the inimitable John Sterling, "That's baseball, Suzyn."

Cashman's incredible pair of deadline blunders, the Montas trade and the Montgomery trade, should get him fired, though they won't.

Montas has a career road ERA of 4.52. He's only been good in Oakland.

Cash must have been high when he made these moves, seriously.

I've said all along, keeping Cashman is one of the best things to ever happen to the Sox. (Boone, too.)

And Boone is Cash's boy.

If they complete this fall from grace or get bounced early, they’ll both go

What's early?

They should b e bounced, if they fail to make the WS.

I know the Astros are tough, but it's gone on, too long, already.

I'd can Boone either way. His decision making and approach are questionable at best. GM I'm not sold that the Yanks would be better without Cashman. As evidenced by most teams failures it's not easy to find a good GM and I think overall Cashman makes more good than bad moves. The roster has been good enough to win in many of these years but they just haven't done it. Change for the sake of change doesn't usually work out.

As a Sox fan, I hope you are right.

I know we live in crazy times, but doesn't it seem to be a little strange to be firing Cashman and Boone with the Yankees in first place, while retaining Bloom and Cora with the Sox in last place, 17 games behind the Yankees?

Yes and no.

a) Cashman has been GM a long time.

B) The Yankees have one of the highest payrolls every year and their fans have high expectations.

c) The Yankees haven't won the World Series since 2009, and have only won one AL pennant since 2003.

Of course if they win it all this year, that would wipe all that out.

I bet the Yankees are saying the same thing about Cora, and especially Bloom.

Cora is 2-0 vs. Boone in playoff series/Wild Card games. So no.

I don’t think the Yankees are looking at Cora, and say the Red Sox have an advantage, because of him. I’ll admit Boone may be a disadvantage though.
