No Schwarber, but I'm sure Cora knows what he's doing. Yup.

SOX luckily still control their own fortunes.

Go SOX!

Scratching my head on Dugo.

The D has been bad enough that you don’t need Fred Flintstone Schwaber in the field. LF, or 1B.

The choice certainly helps the defense, although not in one of the most important positions.

(Watch Dugo make a couple game saving plays!)

It might be enough to outweigh the splits:

Schwarber v L .794 (2021)

Verdugo v L .556 (2021)

I trust Cora, and having Schwarbs to PH might be helpful, too.

BTW, we face a lefty, tomorrow and in the first Nats game, too.

No LF is not one of the most important D positions, but I don’t want JD out there either.

Agreed, but I don’t want a .556 hitter in the line up when our offense is struggling and Schwarber wins your regency bias point.

Put him at DH, which is the only place he belongs.

To much worrying about Schwaber not playing. Be fore he hit those 2 HR against a Mets pitcher he hits he had gone 13 games without a HR, and pounded out a 2-9 this past weekend against the Yankees.

Devers is really bottoming out.

The whole offense has pretty much bottomed out, and like Cora said last night lots of empty AB. Not a clutch hitter in the bunch.

Can't believe Cora is throwing in the towel on the season!!!

This is the best defensive lineup he can field. The Sox are leaking runs all over the AL East. It’s mostly the pitching, but the defense has been soft too.

Plus the only good bat not in the lineup is Schwarber, a lefty bat vs a lefty Orioles starter.

Cora isn’t. The team, especially the bullpen, is playing scared. And win one for the Gipper doesnt work in MLB.

Again, I never said Schwarber was a clearly better choice. I just pointed out the 230 point better split. That equates to one more time on base per 4 ABs. I guess he might make two errors, tonight.

I like having a better D, and Dugo is way better, but it’s doubtful LF defense comes into play as much as 4 ABs.

I love how people think it’s as easy as the manager just telling the guys to loosen up.

Pretty good numbers, 4 AB’s vs chances for a good left fielder to make a difference. Thanks.

I don’t care as much as you about the defense, but right now the Sox pitching scares me.
