Better team won, simple as that.

What grates is just how awful the Sox looked--and that absolutely includes our presumptive ace, Sale, who gave up 10 hits in 3.2 innings.

There is 5 hours out of our lives we won't ever get back. Time to start some other worthwhile hobby than watching that crap.

The football season is around the corner. That’s my saving grace.

The simple fact is that the Rays are just better in every facet of the game. The Red Sox have five All-Stars, but when they play each other, Tampa has better players at every position, including the starting pitchers and the bullpen.

Whitlock needs to go with two good pitches--a fastball and a changeup or slider or splitter--from the get go.

And it goes without saying that Vazquez called a crappy game.

I thought VAZ only stole your girlfriend. Looks like he also shot your dog and stole your pick-up.

I'd love to blame Verdugo, but Sale gave up 10 hits in 3.2 innings, so no way, the Rays don't score a bunch off him.

In case no one has noticed, the Rays actually lead MLB in runs scored. By a bunch.

Also, FWIW, the Sox of the top order came up in the 10th with 1 run scored, a runner on 1b, and no one out. And not another run scored.

Verdugo makes that catch the Sox win this game easily.

I give him credit when he plays well. Recently, in fact.

If you watched this game, you might have noticed the Ray closer threw a lot of sliders in the dirt, but none were wild because the Rays catcher moved over to block them. Vazquez does not do that.

Just so weary of watching the slider chase by so many of our hitters. I understand it's a moving ball that looks one way, then "slides" across and usually down. But if you cannot see the red dot spinning out of the pitcher's hand and lay off then you are not a professional hitter, just another bat swinger. I don't see that many opponents chasing our pitcher's sliders. I'm not sure nayone except Sale even throws a good one. Totally leaadss to wasted AB's. Don't get it this late in the season after you have seen about 1000 or 1500 thrown at you.

Now that the SOX have Iggy, does that mean they can trade Bogey for some much needed pitching next season. And good pitching would be more benefitted with Iggy at SS than having Bogey there.

One reason the Angels let Iglesias go was he was error prone this year, 16 I think so far.

Meanwhile , I watched a 40 year old Nelson Cruz round the bases 360 nominal feet one time and 180' the next on a single. Our turtles go 90' at a time.

His cumulative WAR for 10 seasons is 10.1. This year so far it's -1.2.

In 9 season's, Bogey's cumulative WAR is 28.4, and this year so far it's 4.2

Well, if you're gonna complain about the SOX pitching, and rightly so, the SOX FO will have to give up something good to get something good. That's how it usually works.

Btw, I also hope the SOX FO can also trade JD.

This is on our defense and is not even close. 4 errors? You just can’t win games performing like this. 10 runs won’t be enough.

IMO this defense disaster is because we are shuffling defense positions game after game since the season started, and several players have been taxed like Verdugo today. He is not a CF and has played there just few games. Sure, right now out there were not other options but that’s the example of what has been happening this season. Let players play where they are at best. Stop the D experiments for once and for all, once everybody is healthy.

This D has cost us a lot of games in the season. It is brutal.
