I think you've put the wrong hat on what is happening. The red states are being hit hardest by covid simply because they don't want vaccinations, which is just stupid. 250 years ago in this country American colonists were getting vaccinated for smallpox. Fortunately, they did not have the internet to convince them vaccinations were a communist plot.

My point was, If your vaccinated and follow the protocol, what more can you do? You can't keep ball players and the general public locked up forever or mandate this and that. You can't do it because this is exactly what you get. People will always buck the system no matter what the agenda is.

Umm, let's not get political, but these guys were not wearing masks. That is NOT "following protocol."

This is a baseball thread. Not supposed to talk politics. Don't open that can of worms.

In all fairness, I believe Devers has played in 12 straight games.

It's very possible Devers could have DH'd. But what to do with BOTH JD and Schwarber.

It's not political.

Many of the guys testing positive have been vaccinated. You don't understand the issue here?

I suppose we could DFA JD since he's not vaccinated.

It has nothing to do with politics. I'm vaccinated but it's clear not everything is black and white here.

You still don't get it. The unvaccinated--and that's probably 100 million of us--are the problem and the reason why herd immunity is now unlikely.

Sitting devers. Throwing this kid out today.

Cora didn't pitch this kid today Bloom did. If you think Cora has time to evaluate who comes up from the minors your mistaken.

Look at the stiffs Bloom has signed in the last week. Isn't the Minor League system supposed to give your depth so you dont have to sign stiffs off the street? Mind boggling.

It's difficult to have herd immunity when we've been locked in basement. Okay, I'll stop.

I've been vaccinated.

It should not be political, but like everything, these days, it is.

I'd love to talk baseball, but this is a game thread about a game that is for all intents and purposes being forfeited.

Sox are down 6-0 in the 3d.

I definitely was being political because madstork insisted on making this issue political.

Covid and especially vaccinations should not be political, but they have become so.

Who the hell are these pitchers for the Red Sox today?

They are the best of what we have in the minors, except for maybe Seabold. I'm not sure I'd jump Bello.

Seabold will get a look, and if he fails, then nobody can cast blame on Bloom for calling up the wrong guys.

(Of course, he'll be blamed for acquiring these guys, in the first place- forgetting what he started with. Hey, let's bring back Kickham & Leyer.)

Non-winners of 1 , that is Maidens in horse racing parlance

I do get it. Protect yourself don't worry about somebody else.

I work in an environment where nothing is said from ownership day in or day out about testing, vaccines or any safety workplace protocols. So what do you do, open your mouth, lose a job, or just put your head down and go to work everyday so you don't lose what you got?

You can't fault anyone for that regardless of political affiliation

You had to go there?

The can is now opened.

I'm outta here.

Go Sox!

And I don't. Vaccinations are one key, but so are washing, masks, and physical separation.

So in your thinking Fenway Park should be half capacity?

This is a Cora giveaway game. He did it in the first 2 games at Tampa, and it kind of worked. The Sox won games 3 and 4 with solid pitching and enough hitting. So too the next 2 games vs. the Guardians.

Now with Pivetta, Barnes, Sawamura, Bogie, Kike, Arroyo, Santana, Taylor, D Hernandez, et al out for various reasons--and with 4 hard won victories in the past 4 games--this is the logical game not to extend the pitching staff.

I wash my hands, wear a mask, try to social distance as much as I can and I've also been vaccinated.

I hope everyone does it.

Let's stop talking about it.
