The Red Sox had to send JD with Bobby Dalbec coming up. If the Red Sox had a real major league player at first base, you play for the 2 out hit.

Early Erod observations...that FB of his is still for s***. He is as usual throwing it too much as well....desperate to get ahead in the count. If you get ball 1 from Erod for a 1-0 count you are going to get that 93 right down Main St for the next pitch.

And this is how you lose to a crappy team. ERod was awful and getting solid starts from him is a necessity.
