9 games over the next week+ to turn around the "death Spiral" and reclaim the high ground in the AL East. Need a 6-3 week+ to get on track.

One question , by holding Sale until next Saturday, a full week after his last rehab start, the Sox will insure that he only gets 1 start in this critical stretch. No idea how he will do when facing real hitters, but I'd rather see 2 starts over these 9 games than 1.

Good beginning for Devers who looks alive and well with the bat in hand. Now if we shut them out for 21 more outs , it's a win

Don’t like Devers in the clean-up spot; he just seems to press there. 2 or 5 seems to be where he goes well.

Now please prove me wrong tonight Rafael.

Your wish ...

HR to LH hitter Lowe on a soft toss up in the zone. Still don't think Erod is a smart enough pitcher to confuse any batter

That's where you need a catcher who knows his s***.

So pleased that Schwarber is "trending" in the right direction, should be able to play soon ( no date specified). Maybe the 17th , maybe not. Who knows, certainly not Bloom

They have to hang onto Devers.

He's a special talent.

He brings a different perspective to the line-up.

I would like to see him put together a good defensive season wire to wire.

So if the SOX get rid of VAZ, Bloom can keep this starting rotation next season, because it was all the catcher's fault. And all this time I thought our starting pitching sucked, when, in reality, it was VAZ who sucked.

One question though; if VAZ sucks, why was the SOX BP above average? Doesn't VAZ also catch the relievers?

Vaz does not suck. He's the best catcher we have and better than most ML catchers.

His biggest weakness, in my opinion, is not getting the best he can out of the staff, although this year that staff was exceeding expectations for most of the year.

I had hoped VTek as a coach would help with the pitch-calling, but I think the whole catcher-pitcher relationship goes beyond just calling pitches and what happens when a pitcher shakes off a sign or two.

I do recall some games where the pitcher never shook off a call by VTek.

What's hurting us, now, is Vaz's big drop on offense. He was about at .800 from 2019-2020, but has dropped 150 points from that.

Yes, the whole league has dropped as a whole, but not by nearly that much.
