Don't tell me Arauz or Munoz is a downgrade from Kvis.

@SoxProspects

An eighth inning base hit for Yairo Munoz extends his hitting steak to 20 games. That's the second longest hitting streak in PawSox/WooSox history, moving ahead of Dave Berg (2005), and Dave Stapleton (1979). Jacoby Ellsbury holds the record with a 25 game streak back in 2007.

Now he's killing Devers with nothing but fastballs.

He’s got a good one; there’s some movement there.

Of course they get the fly ball they needed 1or 2 batters earlier.

Lazy fly to CF with the bases loaded.

Sox blew a huge, huge opportunity. 6th, 7th, and 8th batters all get on base, 9th K's, and the top of the order rolls over and plays dead. And Ray is throwing like 75% fastballs and 25% sliders and not much else.

Ray’s too good a pitcher to let those opportunities go by.

Richards is throwing his fastball as hard or harder than Ray, but the Jays love it.

Richards’ fastball doesn’t have the same location and especially movement.

You were right about Richards, who looked much better this inning.

I am not seeing much movement in Ray's fastball, but am in Richards. His breaks down and to the left (to the right as the batter looks at it).

Maybe Ray's fast ball rises. Whatever, it works. That one was right in the middle and JDM couldn't do much with it.

I'm not a Vazquez, but am more than happy to give him some credit when the pitcher is doing well, and so far that is the case with Richards today. Just 3 innings so far, but still.

It just looks like Ray’s gets on the hitters quicker; might be his motion. It also looks more like the old “rising” fastball (acknowledging that the ball doesn’t actually rise).

I forgot Muñoz and Arauz. Yes, they can't be worse than Chavis, specially Muñoz.
