I would like to see this team with one more good bat and one more good arm to make a run.

The Rays are not going away for one thing.

Very correct. 1B is still a black hole at the plate, and the BP arms are susceptible to overwork for a group of average guys at best

Freaking insane. I had the Sox dead, deader, deadest.

And, suddenly, like a fresh breeze, the Yankees computer program, just like the Sox computer program last night, reaches into the game and snatches away a terrific pitcher and brings in one who doesn't quite have it.

This computer program--which both teams use, obviously--begins with the premise that even a great pitcher like Pedro Martinez can become too familiar to opposing hitters and therefore vulnerable. Thus was Grady Little fired for not pulling him and thus have all subsequent managers believed that success depends on pulling their starter at the first sign of trouble.

I think you have a valid point, but isn't this overkill?

I just can't let it go, dude. On the day Cora gives his HOF speech as the greatest manager of his generation, I'll be in the crowd yelling at him, "why did you play Cordero in RF at Fenway Park, don't you know he has no range?"

That was a better throw by Allen than the lollypop he threw from RF yesterday. But that needed to get to home on the fly. Not better than a decent throw. Just not a lollypop.

Sox have been a little snake bit in that X has the bad wrist, Arroyo is out and Rafi needs to take a chill pill at the plate. He has been uber-Rafi lately and normal Rafi is just right.

LOL.

At least you don't say he sucks.

Today is why games like yesterday are so important not to lose. I'm honestly more cheesed off at yesterday's than today.

I also don't understand the shuffle by Cora in the lineup JD was getting hot and you move him down to 5th?

I know the batting order wouldn't of changed anything today but try to fix was isn't broken. The offense has rarely been an issue for this team all year long and now Cora decides to play with the lineup now

I thought JD had been slumping and that was one of the reasons he was moved to 5th, but maybe I'm wrong about JD. I'll need to check the numbers.

Verdugo was definitely slumping and they wanted him out of the second spot.

Someone said he sucks?

I think Cora is even better than Francona. For me, Cora is the greatest Red Sox manager in my lifetime and has a chance to be a HOF manager many years down the road.
