The bad news is that Fulmer is a decent pitcher. The good news is, he's only thrown 85 pitches total in his last 2 starts, so we might only see him for a few innings.

Well here’s hoping we at least have decent pitching tonight

At least starting pitching has not been the issue recently

Finally a decent lineup

Not an ideal lineup, but there's nobody named Franchy in it, so it's good enough for me

Devers is resting his shoulder. Otherwise, you'd have Marwin in LF, Devers at 3B and Verdugo in RF.

@alexspeier

Cora: "I read something today that in our division, I think the only team that has a positive home record is actually the Jays. They’re playing in Dunedin. Maybe, I don’t know, go to Worcester, play there and see if it changes?"

Polar Park is empty for the next week or so.

Wearing my new Sox DRI-FIT training shirt at the gym today. Not sure yet what kind of mojo that is...

Nice!!! I’m wearing my Pedroia shirt.

Mojo aside, the issue that concerns me most is the hitting, which was great for big chunks of April, but that seems to have been a false positive.

The pitching is still better than I expected.

The defense continues to be a problem, but it is what it is.

The other good news is that the Tigers as a team are batting .195/.255/.338. Their offense has an fWAR of -2.8. They are worse than replacement level.

Much like the other 3 major sports teams in Detroit the Tigers are not very good.

Top 5 are certainly not to blame. You have to think Dalbec will come around, and if Renfroe hits .200 with 20+ HRs, I'm good with that. We just have to figure out who plays LF

Mets aren’t too good either and the games were close. Tigers have a solid pitcher up tonight. I think the score will be low. Maybe 2-1 type deal. We have struggles as of late with decent pitchers.

I'm feeling a blowout tonight. We've responded well after 2 game losing streaks thus far in 2021

Hah! Bogie read that snide remark and decided to show us the Sox defense ain't dead yet.

The Tigers starter, meanwhile, demonstrated once again that throwing from that mound is trickier than it looks.

Then JDM goes for this third straight rally-ending GIDP and falls slightly short.

1, 2, and 3 go hitless, and 3 tries to kill the rally with his patented GIDP, and 6, 7, and 8 (Gonzalez, Arroyo, and Renfroe) all get clean singles. Dalbec then K's.

Nice grab by the mom in dark blue.

Don't knock Kike for taking a walk. That's what the leadoff hitter is supposed to do: get on base

They should sweep this awful team. Need to get on a roll.
