Not all people have a palmaris longus muscle, so in those cases they take a strip from the quad tendon. In people who do have a palmaris longus, their first surgery will take the tendon from the non throwing arm. A second surgery will come from the quad

It's on the "Damn Yankees" forum, so I think stuff like this should be ok. If it was elsewhere on TalkSox, you may have a point. If jacko wants to talk about the Yankee batboys on Damn Yankees, that's fine with me.
