There are still some arms available that are definitely worth looking at. BP arms ( Greene, Rosenthal, Jeffress) and SP arms ( Walker, Tehran)! Are we done with additions and just standing firm with what we have?

Maybe a bullpen arm? (Workman?)

Maybe a CFer or at least someone who can spell a guy there from time to time? (Pillar?)

Could get both of those and stay under the lux tax.

The Sox do have two OF’s capable of CF. They still could bring in Pillar, or they could bring in a LHH OF to platoon in a corner with Renfroe. I like Gardner, but I would be extremely surprised if they sign him. Reddick is probably more likely than Gardner but less likely than Pillar.

Like to see Workman come back. And Brice depart...

Rosenthal will cost too much.

I still like the idea of trading for a 2Bman like Adam Frazier and signing Workman.

Frazier could also be a LHH OF platoon.

He’s a good player, but I would be surprised if the Sox acquired him. Maybe because it’s Feb 15th and I’m used to the off-season being basically over by now...

I say Frazier because Pitt has put him on the market. I’m sure there are others. We just need a 1 year fix.

Counting Sawamura? MLBTR has the deal as close...

In addition to Sawamura.

I can see one more reliever being signed before any addition of a CF or a 2B.

They’d have to cut Brice. The man with 9 lives.

That was JBJs spot!

JBJ is watching all the chairs fill up and the music is stopping.

His best potential seats now are probably with the Cubs, Astros, Phillies and Red Sox, with the names being selected via painstaking research as to what are the first 4 teams I could think of that might need a CF...

I just prefer Verdugo in RF. He handled it there in 2020.

Renfroe/Francy - LF

JBJ - CF

Verdugo - RF

Devers - 3B

Xander - SS

Kiké - 2B

Dalbec - 1B

Vaz - C

It's a good lineup. Well, at least it's an interesting lineup. I just don't know if they'll do it.

Agreed, but I can see it not being the plan.

Although Bradley is running out of options and might very well be the Sox CF, at least for one more year...

It is certainly still possible.

I have Bradley's options down to 4 teams, maybe 5 if the White Sox will move Luis Robert to LF. And Boston is certainly one of them...

JBJ wants 4/40.

Sox might do 2/15?

Don't you think someone else will give him three years? Will JBJ be the player Bloom finally thinks is worthy of a three-year? If the Sox are going to sign anyone this winter to three, wouldn't it make more sense -- going forward -- for it to be Odorizzi?

With two decent CF prospects in the pipeline, three years for a guy in his 30s goes against a frugal rebuild. Hard to believe, but it was just over eight years ago that Ben gave Victorino three for $38 million. Then they moved him to right field, where he won another Gold Glove.

Maybe. But JBJ is running out of options. I think Houston might top a 2/$15 offer.

I keep hearing the Mets are still in. How many CF's does one team need? They're going to give Brandon Nimmo a complex if they keep adding more after already bringing in Almora, Pillar and Khalil Lee.

No way the Mets still want Bradley. Boras priced him out of that market...

Now are the Phillies the Dark Horse in the JBJ Sweepstakes?

No rumors to date that I have seen linking them to Bradley. But consider the following:

1. The Phillies missed the postseason last year.

2. The Marlins didn't.

3. They have added 0 new position players to their sub-.500 lineup.

4. Their starting CF is Scott Kingery.

4. Their other options are Adam Hasely and Roman Quinn

Maybe someone will give him 3 years? It's hard to really say at this point. I think he'd be good for another team with more "payroll flexibility" but it's interesting that he hasn't signed yet.

I think it's more likely that he goes to the Astros too.

I don't know what to think of the Phillies. They are projecting to have CJ Chatham on the opening day roster. They have Jankowski as a NRI and Herrera in AAA eating $10M. Two 1st round picks Mickey Moniak 2016 and Cornelius Randolph 2015 ard also sitting in AAA.

I could see them not grabbing JBJ and it just being between the Astros and the Sox.

Astros currently have Myles Straw as projected to play CF. If he's the 2019 version, you go with him over JBJ. If he's the 2020 version, you go with JBJ.

They have a very clear need at CF though as there is nobody behind Straw that can field the position. As they are more likely to compete, they should be the ones to sign JBJ.

JBJ to the Stros?

Dyson to the Sox?

Straw is a formal infielder with lightning speed. They can find multiple ways to get the 2019 version into the lineup.

The obvious other CF still looking for work is Brett Gardner, not Dyson, who is a career backup on a good day. Now if the Astros sign Gardner for CF, that really leaves JBJ scrambing, with his non-Sox options suddenly looking to include the Chunichi Dragons...
