To me, the Yankee hate does not come from just losing to them, so many times. It's being exposed to their obnoxious fans, watching them buy the best players year after year, watching them use PEDs way more than any other top teams and just being rivals.

The Rays have beaten us a lot, too, and there were several times where bad blood was exposed, but I can't help but admire a team like the Rays. They have had one of the lowest player budgets year-after-year, and yet they have been pretty competitive over many seasons. They are the "underdog."

Yes, it sucks, they beat us too many times, but to me, it's not even close to the Yanks, when you factor in everything beyond recent beatings.

Age is a huge factor here.

The Yankees nearly killed me in the Seventies LOL

See, I have not been exposed to obnoxious Yankees fans. Well, that may not be true, but growing up in CT, some of your closest friends will likely root for your rival team. The Boston and New York divide is pretty even here, whether it be Red Sox-Yankees, Patriots-Giants, Celtics-Knicks (not so much recently) or any other sport. My point is that my two best friends are both Yankees fans, and since the Red Sox haven't butt heads in big situations (2018 excluded) with the Yankees that often during my lifespan, I have nothing against the team or their fans.

I would have thought living in CT, you'd have seen more than I did in Maine and MA.

It was intolerable up until 2004. Maybe Yankee fans became less obnoxious after choking away 2004. I moved away from New England in 2007, so I'm no authority on Yankee fan obnoxiousness since then.

They very well could be just as obnoxious. I'm just used to it I guess, and tolerate it just like one should tolerate any other lifestyle choice that is different from our own, since it is what I've been exposed to for my whole life.

And, it's not like Boston sports fans are model citizens either.

Yankee fans were , and still are , often very obnoxious and overbearing. That has certainly been a factor in many folks hating the Yanks. To be perfectly honest , the obnoxiousness level of Red Sox fans has gone up considerably in recent years. However, it is not yet near the level found in New York.

How about Philly? I always thought they were the worst

If you talk to fanbases of other teams, the obnoxiousness level of Red Sox fans is right up there with the Yankees. We have become whiny and entitled. Many Red Sox fans don't agree with that statement, but that is the impression that most other team's fans have of us.

Rays pitching has been brutal especially with 2 outs. Handing out walks. They need to just go home. I can’t stand anything about los angeles. Hate the city hate everything about it.

Cash burned out the pen. Starters are being pulled too early. In fact they have set a record. First team ever to not have a starter go 5 innings in the first 4 games of a world series

Cash has miss managed this series quite poorly

Rays pitching has been f***ing brutal. They deserve to go home. They needed a 1-2-3 inning there .

What a shocker the dodgers just scored with 2 outs. Have the rays gotten an out today with a runner in scoring position? Looks like the pitching will be the ones doing them in and not the offense.
Posted
How did that 4 outfielder shift work for you Cash? Ffs enough with this crap. Would of been an easy ground out if they were playing their position right

The rays are down to their last 3 outs and likely the series. Just a complete s*** show for the rays but their pitching tonight was brutal.

Damn these rays are f***ing resilient! The offense bailed out the pitching tonight!!!!! Just a crazy game. That’s where baseball is at its best!!!!

Holy s*** and hemroids, what an ending!!!!!! Rays win.

Game 5 is now looking like a big game. Would love to see Kershaw get shelled but he came out big for them.

I am surprised the Rays were able to come back from a deficit 3 different times during that game. Wow.

Best of 3. I trust the best team in the league until proven otherwise.

I still have to go with the Dodgers as well. At least the series will go a minimum of 6 games.

Go Baseball!

That was one exciting baseball game. All credit to the Rays. They repeatedly came from behind and wound up shocking the Dodgers. And as I have said a thousand times , " Closing ain't easy. "

Kenley Jansen has had 6 save opportunities in the World Series, and blown 4 of them. Ouch.

You and me both. Unreal!! What a fun series.

I will say this, Kimmi, I'm more interested in this than football right now, which is rare. Not to say I've watched much of either this week, though.
