The real problem with this organization continues to be Brian Cashman but Hal can't figure that out. Cashman has been the Yankees GM for too long--it is time to move on and get a fresh perspective.

I have always felt like Cashman was a good GM who was too heavily influenced, or rather strong-armed, by the powers that be around him.

That said, he has been the GM for an awfully long time. Maybe it's time for a fresh look.

God bless 'em, the Yankees are really doing their best to cheer up Sox fans these days.

Yesterday was a good day for non-Yankees fans.

The Yankees are now 9-13 against teams not named the Red Sox, and only 1/2 game up on the Buffalo Blue Jays.

I think he has loaded up on too many big-body guys who hit home runs or strike out and get injured a lot. I don't think letting Gregorius go was a great idea, either.

Open season on Cash! ;)

Fire away! I won't stop you. :D

Cash needs to get more 10 year contract players like Stanton.

I still think Cashman is one of the best GMs in baseball. In a short season like this a losing streak is magnified, but really it's just been one bad week of play. A week and a half ago the Yanks had the best record in baseball.

Well a 7 game losing streak this season, is roughly the equivalent of a 21 game losing streak in a 162 game season. Not in terms of how much ground you lose to everybody else, but in terms of how much time it takes up relative to the entire season

Only a fool would think Cashman is the problem. The talent is there, but our team resembles the Scranton squad rather than the big league squad right now. Again, they cannot stay healthy

Really like Michael King, but don’t think he’s a starter. His sinker slider combo is real nice, but I don’t think he’s cut out for more than 1 and definitely not more than 2 turns through a lineup. I’d utilize him a la Ramiro Mendoza of year’s past. Good swing guy who can give you a good 3 innings as a bridge

Cash puts together competitive teams, that's for sure.

But one World Series appearance since 2001 is not exactly a feather in his cap.

Really liked Garcia today. They call him “Little Pedro” but he reminded me more of El Duque. He’s a cross fire pitcher who varies his fastball speeds, can run it or keep it straight and has a really nasty breaking ball and change. The fastball seemed to vary from 90 with run or even 90 as a 4 seamer to 94 when the batter had 2 strikes and he elevated. He was hitting every spot he needed to. Very few hard hit balls. Very few balls lifted. Many broken bats. Strange to see a 21 yr old throw like he did. Really impressive. He should see many more starts

They've been ruining everything since 1986

LOL Exactly.

At least we don't have to worry about ARod buying the team.

We are stretching the depth we have. Could have used a starter, infielder, outfielder or reliever. Would have loved Johnathan Schoop from Detroit as a nice stopgap should Torres not get better. Would have loved Archie Bradley or even a guy like Minor. Don’t know how you sit pat here Edited by jacksonianmarch

It's the "We haven't made the WS in over a decade" strategy

Listen, if Cashman said to himself that this year is a crapshoot with the PO format and he wanted to hold onto his prospects, I get that. But at least snag a utility infielder or another outfielder who can swing it a bit. I said above that a guy like Schoop would have been a godsend. Power from the middle infield to replace lost production from Torres. It would shift DJ to SS and our offense rolls from there

They explained it today. Cash wasn’t allowed to add payroll. Colossal mistake by Hal

It sounds more to me like Cash is saying that with any trades he explored the asking price in talent was too high.

Once again Cashman fails the Yankees at the trade deadline. This is turning into an annual tradition.....

That's OK. The only team above them in the standings acted more like sellers than buyers...
