Notin I knew after 1 inning Thad had what it took 1 freaking inning ....I watched him several more times and I’m telling you we have a number 2 starter in the making .He must harness the FB he does have incredible late life on it Now and his slider is amazing .Thad Freaking Ward is our future .Casas hits everything hard his swing to me is money some say it’s long I don’t see it his lower half is powerful and he has a small leg lift that I like to generate power his hips are thick and they are powerful love the swing path it will play well at the next level Both these players are real and you absolutely should be pumped up big time that we have them

This doesn't change the fact that they are 2 years away.

our depth was obliterated by DD. some of us are living with it as it did result in a parade.

although perhaps DD should not get that credit and instead it should go to WTF's "gamesmanship" with runners on 2nd??

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We already knew there were issues with Pedey's watch so none of this should be surprising. Until MLB starts taking away banners and hitting everyone with a mind wipe to erase the memories of a WS parade, who cares.

Mookie

Xander

Eovaldi

ERod

Kelly

JBJ

Devers

Nunez

Cora

DD

Kimbrel

JD

Pearce

The good news, as such, is that there was no cheating during the postseason.

That we know of! I'm sure there was black magick involved of some sort.

I believe they are waiting until after Winter Weekend this week to make some deals. Next week should be pretty busy.

Would you prefer trading Betts and signing Puig?

It would get us under. Trading JBJ and signing Puig only takes a little off the Lux budget.

Henry's not worried about it now tho.

Right!! He wants this team to be competitive. That’s why Kevin Plawecki is in the argument for “Biggest Off-Season Addition”

Puig is crazy, and that’s the only reason he’s a potential bargain.

Whatever he eventually signs for will be a ridiculous fraction of what a player with his age and talent should get this off-season. Based on those two factors, should be getting a contract in the same neighborhood as Rendon. But he will probably sign for what Rendon earns in April of 2020. And people will still question if he is worth it...

Can't wait until he's leaking negative Plawecki stories to the media this fall.

Puig would have made 2019 watchable.

Sure looks like the halfway play.

Trade JBJ

Move Betts to CF

Sign Puig to play RF

Honestly, from a strictly baseball talent perspective, this move would make a ton of sense. Especially since we do not live in a world that considers only baseball talent and therefore Puig is actually an affordable and economic option. But if the Sox really want to stay competitive and reset at the same time, Puig is the wild card that can make it happen.

Or derail it completely...

Suspended for 3 games due to an onfield brawl. The nerve!

He has a good history of bizarre behavior before 2019...

When Kelly threw at a Yanker, they called him scrappy.

When Puig gets into a fight, they called him a disgrace to the game.

Aside from flipping off the fans, there's not a lot of behavioral issues here. Definitely there's nothing "bizarre."

There was that whole incident when Kershaw called out publicly for the removal of one cancerous player. Scott Van Slyke admitted on a coupe radio shows that Puig was the player. I think this lead to the bizarre minor league demotion and subsequent off field party bus stories.

There was even a time in 2014, where, of all people, Hanley Ramirez (according to Jeff Passan) took Puig aside and told him "Don't make the same mistakes I made."

He can be a colorful one...

The only way this could make a re-set happen is if it's Betts that traded.

Worried might not be the word I'd use, but I still think it's a high priority to re-set.

My guess is they deal JBJ and wait until July to decide to have a fire sale, assuming we are 8+ down by then.
