If someone had told you back in April that Erod would be pitching for his 20th win vs the O's , you would have assumed it was another great season, right. Never assume anything ! Had you been told the Sox would be 83-78 going into the final game, you would have dragged out all the WAR family to prove that couldn't happen to a very similar team that won 108 games. DD fired before the season ended ? Quite opposite ends of a spectrum of possibilities. Truly an anomaly.

It seems to go with the territory when you're a Sox fan, though. We saw our team go from last to champs to last only a few years ago.

C.Shepherd 0-0 7.71ERA vs E-rod 19-6 3.80ERA

Only 2 reasons to watch are can E-rod win 20 and can Devers reach 200 hits? He needs 2.

Also, who will be the team leader in OPS?

.942 JD

.940 Bogey

Can Vazquez reach .800? (He's at .796.)

Can Betts reach 30 HRs? (He's at 29.) That would give us 4 guys over 30!

Eck creaming himself. What Erod has got Eck is an outstanding Change that if he throws it right is unhittable. Even if he doesn't set it up, if he throws it right, its unhittable.

What E-rod also has is an ERA OF 3.80 and a WHIP of 1.34. Of course I hope he gets his 20th win, but he is far from the 2nd coming of Johan Santana.

His 19 wins are more a product of the propensity of runs the SOX offense provides him than his individual skills.

If Porcello is in the dugout, make him leave before he makes the ball gravitate to the middle.

Poor Rick...He can't even get off the hook from the dugout!

Without the improvements he has made in that Change he would still be meh. If he does not pronate his wrist too much and turn that Change over its a devastating pitch. It just dies all the way to the plate and the hitter can't see that pitch. If we could see super-slow mo of the ball going throw the hitting zone I would bet anything that we would see ball and bat nowhere near in contact with each other when he throws it right.

Vaz did not help Erod there calling for that stand up high fast ball. Erod changed his motion to hit the glove and if we noticed Erod never really came back from that pitch in that inning. f***ing Vaz ...if there is one thing he has to stop its calling for that f***ing stand up high FB.

I don't watch much NFL but I think the comments I made earlier this year have turned out to be pretty accurate. Just another sports entertainment enterprise they are f***ing all to hell.

Pats struggling with the Bills who have a backup QB playing which is like a normal practice team QB.

Gonna' be a wild time on Boston Sports radio this week. "We should have kept AB on the team. What a STUPID move. Ghost of Myra Kraft comes back to get us. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

You can call it, but

a) not all the time on an 0-2 pitch (which Vac does all the time) and

B) don’t stand so high. When Leon does it, he shifts slightly higher but he doesn’t stand up. Also, no law says the target has to be the glove. Throw at the mask or the catchers helmet.

Pats struggles had little to do with the Bills QB; the D pretty much shut both the starter and the backup down. Brady & company has a very tough day with the Bills D.

Which is why there will be a bunch of radio whining about not keeping AB.

Edelman was nursing ribs...Josh Gordon turned back into ......Josh Gordon. No Gronk and nobody running good routes and getting open. Eventually Bills pinned back their ears and Brady was bailin'

This Chandler Shepherd pitching for the O's is a guy we cut loose in May and has had horrible numbers this year.

So what else is news, especially lately. Sox have had problems with a lot of those type guys this year; O’s Friday night starter comes to mind.

6,735 HR's going into today. Must have hit about 45 yesterday which would be about right if everybody is playing. likely hit another 45 today for something around 6,780 on the regular season....RIDICULOUS
