Stunning to think that with all of his excellence at the plate and with much better hitters around him, Rafi is still behind Trout in OPS, Slugging, HR's and OBP.

Yeah.. there’s only one Mike Trout. But Devers is putting up Trout numbers this season. He really is. At 22 years old he is lightning in a bottle.

Damn, I'm glad Devers doesn't have an opt out clause.

Rafi is not even arb eligible till 2021 and not a FA till 2024. I don't know who represents him though. Still, he is the guy you empty the bank account for unless something really stupid happens to him. Given the way his fielding has come along, he stands a chance of being an every year MVP candidate, All Star and possible GG candidate.

Jung, I only have one word for your well-researched post; HALLELUJAH!

Nunez .....Refreshing!!!!

JD...completely out of the box after an uncontested ball...gotta' ponder....breath....kick some dirt around.

So are you moving on from rocket ball posts or doubling up with batters out of the box stuff?

The mental state of some of these O's must be terrible. If you think about it, the middle infield fell apart right after Villar's two little back to back tiffs, one at home plate and one on the bath paths. After that, he was smack in the middle of every screw up that followed in the bottom half of that inning. He botched so many plays that he took the wind completely out of Alberto's sails and he was at that point crap at 2nd while Villar was being a complete ******* at SS. I don't think I have ever seen one player utterly whaaaaaa his way through a half inning in the field so completely. I have seen worse half innings by a defender but not from lack of effort. Villar just pouted his way through the entire half inning and took every other fielder he came in contact with down with him. Edited by jung

Cleveland won today along with the Rays. Guardians earn a split with the Yankmees. Twins up on Rangers. But its early in that game.

Rays play tomorrow and we don't, its Seattle, but could use some help.

Could Houston possibly win one of four against the A's? That'd be nice.

As of right now Devers has 301 total bases with 36 games remaining. Trout has 272 total bases. Before the steroid era having 400 or more total bases in a season was very rare. It won't be easy, but Devers has a shot at it.

His current slugging % is .598.

The Sox Starting pitching is in a shambles with both Sale and Price probably unavailable and Eovaldi looking awful in his start. Our two regulars left arre Porcello and E-Rod with Cashner likely to join them and perhaps the use of an opener concept pitcher. Too bad because we arre scoring enough runs to support even a fair pitching performance. Funny how guys looking hot goes in cycles. Beni has cooled down in the last couple of days while quiite a few others stepped up today.

We play the Phillies at home so at least we can use our DH.

I continue to marvel at the plate coverage Devers has with power.

We are used to seeing him take the ball the other way with power, and today he takes an inside pitch off the plate for a HR.

He is a joy to watch .
