LaVangie comes out to add his two cents. When you were a catcher and now the pitching coach is your two cents actually worth a penny?

It is actually hard for me to blame mound visits for pace with guys like Villar pulling the horse s*** he pulled in the batter's box last inning. I would get the pitchers and hitters in line before looking at mound visits.

For one thing...was the rule about hitters staying in the batters box somehow only temporary. What the f*** happened to that? If they are not going to enforce anything what the f*** do more rules matter. I don't mind a guy sticking his foot out of the box...Heck I did that. These guys are strolling around the block and carrying on conversations along the way. JUST STOP!!!!

Here is dickhead Villar again. Called strike, uncontested and he STILL can't just stay in the box.

Vaz is the worst. Vaz makes home plate look like the duck pond at Boston Public Garden and the bridge is under repair. So Vaz has to walk all the way around the duck pond for the heck of it just to get back where he started.

Another dickhead....Santander. I swung and missed. So i have to step entirely out of the box and ponder!

How can this pitcher hold the Sox to 3 runs in 5 innings? He is horrible. Of course the Sox only have a 7 man lineup with two automatic outs at the bottom.

I swear to God if you pay attention to virtually every batter...ALL OF THEM...they are just terrible. Who the f*** does Yosemite think he is? Ball way outside. Gotta' step out and ponder.

I swear if Gibson saw these guys hopping around outside the batter's box between pitches he would have drilled one of them right in the balls and said "there NOW you have something to hop around about".

Gibby couldn't pitch under these current rules.

You know what.. pitchers pump their fists, slap their gloves, roar, yell, point all over the place. I’m a little tired of the “put your head down and run to first base” crap for hitters. These are people, not robots. Displaying any emotion as a hitter is such a taboo subject for baseball when it shouldn’t be. Frankly.. it’s more exiting when players show emotion. I don’t have an issue with it. If the opposing pitcher doesn’t like it? Well.. get the hitter out next time and quit whining.

No wonder the O's have yet to win their 40th game. Villar is as complete an ******* as I have seen on a baseball diamond.

Not talking about "emoting" after a play. Watch these idiots at bat. In fact, X is less objectionable than most of these goons. Every single pitch requires that they get completely out of the batter's box between pitches, saunter around as if they are at the Arnold Arboretum on a Sunday afternoon, ponder their navel and carry on a few conversations before stepping back in. IT IS RIDICULOUS!

Look at Mookie. He is the only guy on either team that does it the right way. Gee, Mookie has such a tough time batting doing it the right way.

I haven't been following things closely recently. Is there some coherent reason that Marco Hernandez or Holt isn't playing 2B? Do we gain anything by having Owings in there?

That’s fair. But plenty of pitchers take forever between pitches. Some don’t. MLB could address it I suppose.

Dave Duncan was a catcher and then a pitching coach for 25 years for very successful Oakland and St. Louis teams. He was considered the gold standard for pitching coaches in his day.

I am not comparing LaVangie to him; there is none. But don’t off hand assume that a former catcher knows nothing about pitching. Now, a former outfielder, that I would question.

WTF is how a few of us answer those kind of questions.
