If JBJ gets traded to a NL team, he'll probably bat ninth in the line-up.

With certain pitchers that would be very possible.

When I was a kid, I went to a game at Shea between the Mets and the Cards. Bob Gibson was hitting 7th.

Tony LaRussa had some of his pitchers batting 8th quite often in his last couple years managing the Cards.

Yeah, but this would have been 1970ish. Managers were not noted for going away from the book very often.

Btw, do you remember when Earl Wilson pitched for the SOX? He was a very powerful batter. I saw him hit a couple balls out past the monuments in the old Yankem Stadium. That was when the monuments were in CF.

Anyone have Josh Smith and Ryan Weber in the pool for best Sox pitchers this weekend?

I thought about it, but I didn't. However, I did have some SOX throwers being thrown into the Hudson River.

That was before my time, my first year as a fan was 1967 when I was 8. I do remember him with the Tigers.

So we are going to Green in the 9th? Ottavino can go, why not let him close this out? Green is either gonna be lights out or get lit up. He doesn't play the inbetween game

You’ve got nothing to worry about.

Yup, he was traded from Boston to Detroit during the '66 season. He was a quality starter.

Sam Travis is the beast we have ? Is Pedey that hurt lol,

Travis is going to be in the lineup a lot the last 50 games, both at 1st and in left. He’s going to get a long look to see if he’s a viable bench candidate in 2020.

What JD Martinez is overrated? He’s been a great hitter his entire career and hits big under pressure. He’s not having his normal year this year but yet he’s still batting .297 25HR 65RBI. He’ll finish with 35HR and 90-100RBI’s. That’s the first time I’ve heard he’s overrated. Maybe he’s not as good this year but not overreacted.
