Kyle Hendricks, who throws 87 mph, is throwing a shutout tonight against St. Louis. Its called pitching. Some Sox pitchers should watch him pitch.

Jamie Moyer ? Hell Greg Maddox

So what you are saying is that he is completely useless. Just getting paid to shoot the s*** in the dugout and bull pen since he can’t even suggest or present tweaking certain pitching mechanics etc.. the truth is that the coaches do that at the major league level. It happens all the time hence, it is commented on during broadcasts.

YAZ noooo man that's not the point it's the adjustments man there are none it's the same ******** night after night !! It's sad and it's on his watch it's him he's got to go .

Oh no no.. I am in full agreement with you. I was saying that pitching coaches actually do help players make adjustments and the like on a MLB level. It gets mentioned pretty consistently.. especially during post season broadcasts when every little thing is magnified.

TD question ? What would it matter if they switched places ? Now that's sad because it may be a coin flip

Ya honestly I don’t even know. They’re as bad as each other. Equally blow games. We might need a lot of changes in the off season. E Rod is the only bright thing right now and Workman. Maybe Walden.

OB keeping track of Rays' K's. Hey, OB, it don't mean a thing if it ain't got swing.

He is sickening with the K's. Last night 15 K's 13 or 14 hits and a loss.

Wasn't LaVagnie the pitching coach last year when the SOX won 119 games?

Some comments from Dave after this game concludes would be interesting.

You can’t find a cure for the entire pitching staff just like that. The more I think about it, the more it made sense for this team to stay as is. Just not competitive enough.

With 50 odd to go, there is still a fair chance of winning some playoff position but the reality is that they have not shown any ability to go on a run much over .500 . They cannot beat top teams regularly. Let them float for the rest of the year and just laugh at what happens.

I think he was. But that’s not to say that he can’t have a poor year following a WS win.

It isn’t easy to zero in on the issue from outside the organization but you have to at least partially blame him for this years struggles can’t you?

Been an aweful year but God do we grind on offense and yes I'll say it some of our relievers look more talented than our starters .Dave may not have traded for anyone but he can can OR DFA some deadweight .

You know I love your stuff, so don't take this personal, but the posters need to stop holding up 2018 as the proof that management should accept these results from a $240 million team. It's obvious that JH told DD, no more !!. Problem was, DD had just signed Sale and Eovaldi to longer term deals, matching Price's deal. That will hurt for years to come.

Read the post. I said they don't DEVELOP pitching at the ML level. I also said that Tampa knows how to DEVELOP it and then DEPLOY it at the ML level...two different functions though if you have coaches that can develop pitching in your organization it stands to reason that you would advance their employment in your organization and ultimately they would make it to your ML coaching staff. I don't recall posting anything like the gibberish you are implying that I posted.

Doesn't change anything by the way. Our pitching sucks and I suspect at season end either Cora or LaVanchie will be held responsible particularly since it has gone downhill all season long.

You could also blame the catchers if you so chose, but I will blame the VETERAN starters. These guys have been MLB pitchers for 10+ years and none of us know what their response is to LaVagnie's tweaks. But, like I posted earlier, LaVagnie will most likely get canned because it's a lot easier to fire him than the 3 veteran starters, whose best days are behind them.

Jung, hate to take sides in a meaningless conversation, but I agree with you. The failure to develop any significant starting pitching over a decade is a true indictment of multiple FO's, managers and pitching coaches as well as the MilB system of the Sox. Matt Barnes is not a success story in my book. He's OK as a low leverage 7th inning thrower.

He's needs to go SS it's a joke how bad this staff is .

This above. You are so right, 3 vets who cannot go 5-6 innings and hold the Porcellos in the park.

I'm just defending the pitching coach. Like I've posted before; it's difficult to polish a turd.
