Just got home in time to watch the Sox win. Wow. Paxton and Tanaka sucked the last two games. We gotta get some semblance of starting pitching tomorrow. Embarassing

Tomorrow the Yankems have someone who resembles a clown more than a pitcher.

2 blowouts in a row. Our offense made the game bullpen proof. After going 6 2/3 innings and only giving up 3 runs, our pen of pigs gave up 2 runs and a bunch of base runners in 2 1/3 innings.

Many more games than not, our pen had a better game ERA than the starter.

They stink...no major league arms sitting out there. Going to the pen is a terror thrill ride.

That's a pretty low bar, though.

Right now there's nobody out there whom I have confidence in. Workman is the best looking pup in the litter.

I totally agree, but using your measuring stick for this game, they have done better than the starters game by game with game ERA.

I've been saying all along we should trade for 2 solid (not costly) RP'ers no matter how well Eovaldi is doing.

You apparently weren't here for this conversation but what if the Sox (dare I say this) SWEEP this series? Does that change your opinion any?

I am not using any measuring stick in this game to make any larger point. I am just recapping tonight's game. I wouldn't care if the bullpen pitched a clean 2 1/3 innings tonight. My opinion would still be that they stink.

We like them a lot!

Nope: we need one solid RP'er without question. I'd look for a Cashner-type deal but for a RP'er.

My own opinion is that I'd get a second RP'er, too... maybe a lefty.

(I'd trade Johnson, who is out of options, but I guess we may go with him in the pen, soon.)

Watching the ANgels game, when did they change that RF wall to anything hit mid point (yellow mark) a HR?

Mookie has 5 3homer game in his career, the Sox all time leader now. He should have had one earlier in the month as well but Fenway odd dimension took it away.

Also tied for 3rd most all-time with ARod, Mark McGwire, Carlos Delgado, Joe Carter and Dave Kingman.

Johnny Mize and Sammy Sosa each did it 6 times.

Still hard to believe that Ortiz never had one.

I would not immediately sell short CC's ability to shut down the Sox for whatever period of time he is out there. Frankly if Cashewnuts was pitching against us instead of for us, he likely would have done as well against us on Friday as he did v. the Yankmees.

Tanaka simply had a bad start and he never recovers during a bad start. Paxton with all his 98 velo horse s*** never had a shot against this Red Sox team, probably the best FB hitting team in the AL. CC is much more Cashewnuts than Paxton and by a wide margin. How long Fatbathia can stay out there on the mound is always an issue for the Yankmees though.

I would expect CC to be effective if not very effective up till the 5th or 6th inning and then fall apart entirely and all at once at that point.

Paxton needs to be better. He’s got elite stuff. He shut down the Sox in YS by living down in the zone and going further down with the slider. You cannot go up in the zone vs boston. You have to go up and out of the zone. Staying letter high in Fenway vs the Sox is a recipe for disaster. CC may be the cure for what ails us. Nothing like a junk baller who throws nothing up in the zone to change the bat path of the Sox hitters. We don’t need ourbstarter to be good. If CC goes 5IP 3ER, it’ll be a humongous win. We don’t need 7IP 1ER. I’ll take it if it happens, but that’s not what’s needed
