The SOX home record is 20-19. They're away record is 24-18. Although this London two game series is listed as SOX home games, I'm putting those on the away ledger.

For all the grief the pen has taken here they are actually FOURTH in ERA in the league. Our SP are SEVENTH in ERA. And offensively we are fifth in runs scored but fourth in OPS.

Bottom line: with those kind of numbers we should have won many more games. And the talent is there to do much better. Right now we are on a pace to win just 88 games. Thats not going to get us into the playoffs. DD is going to have to make some moves.

I know how hard eck has worked to beat back his demons. As such you could knock me over with a feather if he was. However of late he sounds more like a guy siting on a bar stool watching the game on TV than an analyst.

Notice how many breaking pitches were thrown just in this game even with Price throwing them sparingly. Far and away the usual result was:

Bugs Bunny swing and miss at pitches finishing a foot outside or even bouncing a foot in front of home plate. They could not hit them and yet they could not lay off them.

 

Looked far more foolish than they look when they miss the high heat which often leaves the viewer thinking "well he juuuuuust missed that one".

 

They can't hit breakers Mr Commissioner and they can't lay off them. Your big bad MLB HR hitters look like they are playing Bugs Bunny Baseball.

 

Make no mistake, most of the Big Bad Bashers wearing the Red Hose don't look any better trying to hit that stuff. X can hit it some, Vaz can hit it some, Rafi can, Holt can. The rest of them are pretty helpless.
