But his OPS is about 190 points higher than it was in April. How can you be unhappy with one of the hottest hitters on the Sox ? Also note how Betts covered Jackie's steal, sacrificing himself. meanwhile back at the ranch Benintendi has decided to join the game with 2 good hits and an rbi

I don't think your lead off hitter "sacrificing" himself for the baserunner in that way makes much sense. If he steals it he steals it. If Mookie took a proper swing fine, but he didn't. He took a half hearted piece of trash swing which really does not make much sense from a guy you have at the top of your order.

Agreed..... between this and last night that is why I am saying I think a lot of it is in his head now..... Hopefully he gets out of this rut but I think it's really starting to impact him and mess with him.

Jung, not everything is quite so literal. It was a rip on Betts because the swing as I saw it (with 2 strikes) was ridiculous and almost looked like he was covering for the steal. Betts is not doing well lately.

Some runs this inning would be a nice change from what has become far too familiar, a mighty 2 runs headed into the late innings, handing the ball to our bucket-0-bums bullpen.

Said it last night...I don't like what Mookie is swinging at, don't like what it apparently has done to what was a very compact swing and don't like what he is taking.

Beni is my new hero. Very nice game, and what do you know a lead. For better transparency, I'm not much of a Benintendi fan, but today is different. I greatly respect JDM's ability and dedication but today he is testing those loyalty ties. Maybe an HR right here would turn that around.

But it was not to be on a terrible call by Cappicola the key ingredient in a sub sandwich

Beni 3, the Rangers 2.

I guess I will take it. 3 is still better than 2....but not by much with the Bucket-0-bums waiting in the wings.

Hopefully Cora still believes in stretching his starters because this appears to be a day when it is truly warranted.

Tale of sides of the plate for Lynn today:

Righties are 1-12 with Chavis’ 55 footer bring the only hit.

The lefties are 5-8 with a walk including 2 doubles and a pair of triples.

EDIT- numbers through 5 innings

Bucket-O-Bums or Barrell-O-Monkeys ? One can be retrained, the others just run wild.

Hope Rick can pitch a complete game and stay away from the gasoline boys in the pen.

Man right now he’s dialed right in.

Sharp observation , IL. Hard to stay awake through some of this.

Probably too many pitches for that. He’s nearing 90 which probably means one more inning.

7 innings 2 runs I will take it :) Porcello has been fantastic today. Cue the BP to mess it up.

2 out hitting by a .174 hitter, whose name is Odor, not O'door. Rick gave a big effort and in the land of 2 out innings, he would be king. I sincerely hope he gets this win.

And for us to re-sign him in Boston :) because we will regret it if we don't.

So what does Odor getting on and Cora bringing in Work do to you? :)

Cabrera follows Pence in the order. I would NOT have wanted Work facing Cabrera especially with one on and nobody out. OK with Work facing Guzman especially with two out with Odor on. Rick would have been the better choice for Cabrera with Pence on and by a mile.

I would like to see Betts going into second base have a non-fatal collision with Rougned Odor and have their neck chains get intertwined and knotted together in such a way only a locksmith could free them. That would be a funny half hour. neither could move without choking the other.

On the other hand, for that to happen, Mookie would have to get on base.

Lol!! That is something that is so far fetched it would only belong in a spoof movie or a cheap porno.
