If the only thing you knew was that Chris Sale had 1 win on May 31, you would guess that his arm fell off. Not so, just pitching without any luck ans weak support . I trust Leon is catching.

I'd saying it's bad juju to quote a Yankee before a Yankee series, but I'm not sure Yogi said it (even though it sounds like him).

I will settle for winning 2 of 3 because the issue right now is whether the Sox are even competitive. Plus I'm guessing the Sox will go with Sale, Price, and Porcello. And the bullpen just got a day of rest which they needed.

Yankees are at a blistering .655 (106 wins) and have won 8 of 10, but so far have played better on the road than at home. Their pitching is better, but ours (in my opinion) should be. Biggest difference is bullpens--we've blown 9 of 21 save opportunties; they've blown 7 of 26. We have 23 quality starts to their 19.

Our bullpen gave up 14 runs in 8 innings in the last two games. Against the Guardians who have the 26th best OPS in MLB.

I could be wrong, but I have seen far less of his changeup than last year. I think he's better when he has that, the slider, and of course the fastball, especially with all those righty bats he faces.

Strange that Boone is starting Gardner over Frazier against a tough lefty. Boone said yesterday that Frazier was out because he had a scheduled day off. However Frazier still being out after yesterday's rainout tells me that was a load of s*** and for some reason he prefers the matchup with Gardner (.541 OPS against LHP this year) instead of Clint (.711 OPS against LHP this year). I'd at least start Frazier over Morales.. but whatever. Boone has been pushing all the right buttons this season so we'll see if it continues.

This is ridiculous. The only person who can take the bat away from Nunez is Dombrowski.

You sound like Billy Beane in Moneyball.

No Chavis ? WTF ??????are we tanking for real ? Could be a mighty big black hole with Nunez JBJ and Leon at the end of lineup .I would be playing Chavis and Holt tonight .

Knowing Cora his answer will be "Everyone deserves a rest, and he was due for one."

The lineup looks very circa 2018 especially with Betts leading off in front of Beni, and Nunez at 2B, I assume because of Happ

Not exactly a line-up that reflects a luxury tax.

If Chris sale pitch is anything like he is capable of we shouldn’t need double digit runs to win this game. It should be a 4-3 type of final. Then again with our bullpen maybe I am completely wrong.

What bull pen? Oh, you mean maybe two fellas that can get outs? I can already see Cora putting Barnes in a Jam multiple times in this series. Bases loaded/two in scoring position.. etc.

Barnes will be burnt out well before the post season if this continues, if we make it that far. Dombrowski better be putting his ear to the ground and zeroing in on a solution.

Note to Beni and JBJ: No reason to go opposite field in that right field sandbox.

That porch over in right. Line drive base hhh... I mean home run! lol I think we could all lob it over that thing from home plate using our off hands.

I know exactly why Frazier isn’t starting in the OF. We’re probably not gonna score a lot if Sale has rediscovered his velocity. Frazier has been an adventure in the OF and having Gardy-Hicks-Maybin gives us a really strong OF defensively.

Also, note to Boone. Happ should be a 5 and screw kind of guy today. His last start was nearly perfect through 5 then he gave up 3 in the 6th. The pen is rested. No need to tempt fate. Happ for 5. Ottavino-Kahnle-Britton-Chap for the win

Not sure what solutions there are. This is a complete disaster. If it was one or two guys ok. But as you said we literally have 2 decent players we can count on in the bullpen. It’s a scary image right now. Even if we got Kimbrel back as closer I’m not so sure that would solve our situation. Hope Sale can go 7 innings today and the offense puts up some runs.

Nope... we need two more dominant arms in the pen. Kimberly alone will not solve this.

Geez Tulo on an IL again. Teams interested in him should sign him to 10 day deals.

Bird....injured again as well. Steady hospital resident.

Maybe Sale can go 8 tonight.

A man can hope.
