Walden, Barnes, Brasier and Lakin used 62 pitches to get 6 outs. Gave up 5 runs, 5 hits, 2 HRs, 5 walks and 1 K WTF. Mark down tonight as the one loss that may cost you come September 30

Are you seriously lumping the rest with Brasier and Lakin? It was Barnes that came in with 1 out in the 8th. I wish the score remains 3-2 so Braiser wouldn't get in.

You're kidding right ? Workman pitched the 7th tonight

Yea sorry about that. Slept through the 7th completely. Just woke in time to see Barnes bail out Walden.

Non-responsive. How would YOU have handled the 9th?

Already said Workman .Workman should have been made closer 2 freaking weeks ago .But Cora wastes his ass in the 7 th .Matt is my second pick .I wouldn't let brazier dust the freaking clubhouse .The guy is trash .

Brasier blows another. He has cost them 4-5 games. All via the HR. Don't forget JBJ robbed a walk off HR to save Brasier ass.

Correct and good memory on JBJr save. Brasier was a filler/project guy that made DD look like a genius last year , and good for all of us. he got the ring, the check, and the plaudits. But if you look at his talent level, how did 29 other teams miss grabbing him ? Lakin was not expected to be in the BP this year until maybe later. Walden , another filler that has been successful prior to tonight, but is running on fumes.

It was ,cold, wet , delayed, etc, etc. But you got beat by inferior players on an inferior team because your marginal dudes were inferior tonight

Did I say something ? My apologies to everyone here .Just a bad night .

It's about who starts the game thread. The thread starter of a previous days win, gets to go until he loses. Never jump in on a winning streak, no matter how short, which most this year have been real short.

Work would have worked as well for me as the 9th starts out a clean inning. Again no surprise that Cora went with Brasier.

Myself given that neither Work or Hembree are really closers if both were available I would have chosen based on the projected 9th inning batters for the Guardians. Not sure I would have used either Hembree or Workman in the 7th and left myself with Brasier to close. Cora is pretty stubborn though.

In fact, given my previous comments about Brasier it is likely obvious to the board that I would not have chosen to leave myself with Brasier unless the entire rest of the pen suddenly got the Measles.

What's even harder to take is that the Guardians gave the SOX a 2 run gift. Unfortunately, this gift did not keep on giving.

How did Mookie not catch that ball ??? I just want to throw up .

Our own RFers should be the last guys on the planet surprised by the optical illusion caused by the RF bulge that runs out to the bullpens. But it appears to me that Mookie has been surprised by it twice in two weeks.

Then again, show me an OFer that has adapted to the 2019 version of the rocket ship baseball and I will show you an anomaly.

Maybe the SOX could sign Kimbrel on an appearance contract for the rest of the season. I know I've posted this before, but they could pay him a certain amount for each game he closes. I'm sure he's been throwing while unemployed, so he would probably be game ready in no time.

Even if Betts caught it, the Guardians would still have scored one run, which would have been enough.

Guess I'm thinking when betts gets on there in the ninth we bunt him over and the game switches how it's played ? But we are talking about Cora tonight ? So you win we lose either way.

Or the slightly more sophisticated take, 'Get busy Dave!'.

The gamethread mojo violation must be punished by the mods. It is the second violation this season and both resulted in losses. A stiff punishment must be meted out to serve as a deterrent.

We need some stats to make us feel better.

Loving it FOY: Here's the only stat that matters 29-26 after 33.95061% of the season played. All the other stats are simply time consumers between actual games.

End of the day that is on the coaches. No way that should have been a loss. Price should be disgusted with how good he played and they dropped the ball like that. Unbelievable.

I agree with that view as well.

Apparently the Sox have won every other game other than those two.

Been wayyy more than two, but I completely agree. No better mess me up, or there'll be a problem

I think Kimbrel would love that arrangement, especially because he would charge $500K per save because he has to make up for all the money he hasn't been paid this year. Plus of course no windows, no 8th innings, nobody on base when he goes in, no tie games, etc.
