I don't think we will see much of Pedey. I doubt I will even have time to complain even if I had a mind to.

I am never going to like playing novice players out of position in the ML's especially if there are some inherent physical risks to playing the particular position in question. Then again if we think the kid is just cannon fodder, meat for the meat grinder, who cares...be my guest.

Your point is well taken, but I doubt Chavis considers himself cannon fodder. He's getting a chance to play and he's taking advantage of it. Also, everyday he's getting professional coaching on playing 2nd base.

Not only can they not slide feet first, most of them could not steal a bag if their life depended on it....or... Do we really think these gaudy caught stealing numbers are because the contemporary Catcher is just awesome!!!!

Actually ML coaches are not well positioned to nor adapted to teaching rudimentary skills for a particular position. The expectation is that the player has that already. It will be about 1,000 repetitions easy if not 2,000, heck more likely 3,000 before Chavis stops being a goofy footer around 2nd base.

The hardest thing to do in baseball is hit. Right now Chavis is doing that. When he stops doing that, I'll be glad to have Nunez or Pedey back at 2nd. Well, not really, but I think you get my point.

Don't know if anybody is listening to the booth chatter. I think it is pretty hysterical that Jeter is suddenly impatient with his team as an owner instead of a player. LOL

And if he gets hurt out there as he actually could have and probably should have on that very play....just as Swihart did playing out of position, then will you be happy with this decision?

As for his hitting, talk to me when the ML pitchers learns how to pitch to him.

Anyone can get hurt in a ballgame, whether it's a clean play or a dirty play. I know you know that.

Boy NESN did not even throw a graphic for Holt up in that run down of injured players. That is worrisome.

That is not the point and you know that!

Man O' MAN!

Sorry I haven't seen the whole thread. Where is JBJ? I can't think Pearce is an improvement in the outfield.

Chavez has to stay in the lineup if and when Pedroia gets back

Cora could put JD in left and Beni in CF. Chavis could then be the DH. It would weaken the outfield defensively, but it keeps Chavis in the line-up and keeps JBJ out.
