I would let him go 115 if he was not straining and could get a complete game out of it. Did they outlaw LH hitters in Oakland?

Looks like he could definitely go into the 8th, maybe finish it.

He's a nice player, but not a great player.

Beni mainly tries to go oppo with his inside out swing. He hits a lot of balls up and doesn't have the power to reach the wall on most of those. I wish he would try and pull a larger fraction of those, especially at places with short right fields, like Yankee Stadium. He just doesn't seem to want to make a effort to pull so this is what he has been and continues to be. A good hitter with a little power. He is young and there is time but then how long have we said that about JBJ?

Beni made the first out in the first inning. Then made the third out in three separate innings . Nice symmetry

Does X ever have the look of the assassin. Game well in hand late, nothing really going on....guy on 1st base...X is not all that interested.

Put a guy at second base, a runner he can drive in and X really bears down from the batters box.

Interesting how the starting rotation is magically back in synch to a large degree. It was either the lack of ST prep or the return of Sandy Leon, lol .

Hahaha. Could be both. But probably lack of prep.

Well at least in my mind there is little doubt that the lack of work in ST put the rotation back 4 turns through in the regular season. Not much we really can take from this game. The A's really cannot put a lineup like this out there against even a decent RH pitcher in this league. Its almost criminal.

Poor Semien. Totally lost v Rick. Darn it...probably lost the shot at a complete game shutout on that jerk.

Seemed like we came so close to several crooked number innings, but it's nice to see the offense showing up 2 games in a row.

Porcello pitched very well. We need him going forward.

The end of the slow beginning ?? A run to begin with a competitive lineup ?? Or just 2 wins vs a team that will go down without any noise.

The cool thing is we have a couple easy series after this so we can really get on a role. I would be a little sketched out if we had Houston and the Yankees coming up.

My God...they have given Thorny so much time to come back and it just does not appear to be happening for him or us.....OR ANYBODY!

A Home Run , an out, then a walk with a 5-1 lead. Thornburg's ass is eating sofa cushions about now.

A big win for the Starting Pitchers who now have 4. great game for Porcello who allowed no namesakes.

Remember when people thought Mookie was going to struggle due to the pressure of a contract coming and complained about his prolonged slump? Good times.

He is back to being the Mookie we know and love !

Ace-like performance by Porcello tonight. Eck mentioned that he seemed to be throwing a few more 2 seam fastballs than 4 seamers which have been getting hammered.

Great point.

Could Sandy have anything to do with this? Maybe?
