Such a frustrating team to watch. I don’t know if i can watch this crappy inconsistency anymore from this team until they get back to 500 this year. I just don’t see it. The rays and skanks are doing their thing and this team remains under 500.

Moreland is as bad at times as the rest of them, hitting .217, 0-5 today

Moreland is what he is; a guy who should be hitting 6-7 in the line-up. He should not be hitting 3rd consistently. He’s also at his best when he’s not playing every day.

Well, all I can say after this disappointing loss is GO BRUINS!

That’s the only good thing right now along with the C’s. Might have nothing to cheer about in the summer.

Rays have good pitching, simple as that. Yes, Lin screwed up, but so did his silent and unalert first base coach. Lin's huge mistake was to assume the ball would be caught and to stop watching it. Apparently, so did the 1b coach.

But to me the booby prize belongs to our over-rated and borderline imbecilic centerfielder who can't hit spit, but still elected to swing at 2 pitches outside of the strike zone, either of which would have walked home the tying run.

Pearce's BA + Leon's BA + Bradley's BA is .345 . enough said. Take their OPS's and shove them

Just an aboslutely pathetic black hole.

Just look at the Angels lineup. They'll be the first to tell you that you actually need good players hitting in order to win.

I wouldn't be surprised if DD isn't shopping JBJ around the league. I doubt a NL team would be interested because they already have a pitcher batting in the line-up. Hopefully, DD can secure an average CF who can, at least, put the bat on the ball.

What they paid Trout will hamper improvements in the future.

The truth is that Trout brings fans to the ballpark. That means profits and profits for ownership outweigh rings.

My bad. I always thought that rule was to prevent double plays. At least, if nothing else, I learned something today.

It is but if they turn a DP in that situation (just a guy on 1st) it’s because the batter didn’t bother to run.

It’s designed to prevent an easy DP because the runners on 1st and 2nd (and 3rd if applicable) have to hang around the base due to the pop up.

Trying to link the Red Sox with the Bruins double overtime loss, here's a comment and a question for those in the hockey know:

1. The Bruins offense reminds me of the Red Sox. lots of swings, several misses. Did not see a lot of organized , coordinated offensive play.

2. Is Zdeno Chara on the ice for EVERY opposition goal or does it just seem that way ???

Correct assessment. The batter in that weak effort needed to run. He shall go unnamed as to not hurt his chances of a big future contract.

So true. The 7 HR's are most welcome but not indicative of a consistently good hitter. Mitch would be a strength at #6/#7 , but who else in this lineup should be at #3 ? If you say JDM which is a good choice, who hits 4th. ?

Actually, he had a +6 going into tonight's game. The BRUINS lost tonight mainly because their top 2 lines sucked. Bergeron is either playing hurt or has aged 10 years since the regular season ended. Pastrnak has been terrible for most of the PO's. He'll probably be fired by Dunkin' Donuts.

Yes, and he also plays 1st base.

Well there is no light switch turnaround in the works for our Sox it appears. Instead they have at least so far stopped the flow of blood and are playing .500 ball... sort of... which makes it quite a struggle to actually get to a .500 record. At this rate they will be 10+ games out by June. To the extent that its a grind back and not a light switch, night and day dif is more proof for how unprepared the whole team was to start the season with a paltry few exceptions. Might have been more obvious through the lens of the rotation, but the whole team was somewhere in orbit way out around Pluto as the regular season started.

Seeing Chavis is fun but lets face it, that was a desperation move which will look even more desperate if a guy that was not depended on to be here at all works his way onto the 25 man for a longer stay.

It seems to me that was actually a pretty good major league baseball game yesterday. Sucks that we lost, needless to say. But the Rays have excellent pitching and so you are going to lose some 2-1 games to them.

Yup. I love 2-1 games.
