Our 22nd ranked bats aren't helping out our pitcher today? I'm stunned..... This team is winning games (thank god for that) but still a shadow of what we were last season. We certainly aren't winning in dominating fashion that's for sure. It's actually impressive we swept Tampa considering our pitching and bat stats lol.

I understand that it's a day-night doubleheader but look at that lineup, and their performance to date (with the sample size growing daily) Truly weak hitting from too many guys.

Almost every lineup we throw out there now has at least two black holes and in the AL, that is pretty tough to deal with. Today, Lin got a hit....shocking! So the black holes are Pierce and Sandy.

Agreed. I'm not saying this offense is pathetic or anything but especially with this lineup I figured Sale would need to give us damn near a shutout game.... He hasn't been horrible and giving us a chance to win but from looking at the lineup I was never expecting us to win a dominating game or put up 6 plus runs..... Then again this pitcher for Detroit I don't think has been anything special this year so maybe I had a glimmer of hope lol.

3 guys in this lineup did not leave Ft. Myers with the team. Beni-Betts and Bogey all hitting below .280. Multiple guys below .200. Not many HR's

Agreed, but I will take it. With Sale burning out in the second half of the season maybe this is what he needs to do. Calm, cool, collective, take his time and mix in a lot of pitches rather than bang bang superman fastball. If he can give us games like this I have no doubt we win pretty much every one of his starts as long as the offense keeps doing what they are doing.

If your ace is a 5IP pitcher with your pen the way it is, he’s not going to win many games

Definitely surprising. Glad guys like Moreland have stepped up to give us some spark. This is definitely a time we need some solid pitching to stay respectable in the division. Starting rotation seems to have found their groove at the right time at least. Sale although not a perfect day has still been pretty solid and giving us a chance to win.

You don’t get to complain about your lineup. Take a look at the Replacements to the south

Our pen the way it is? Explain more please. I understand we don't have the most dominating bullpen in the league, but it's actually been the friggin highlight of the season believe it or not. But yes Sale definitely needs to be better than this. I said earlier this is concerning that Sale is likely not making it past the 5th inning yet again. A shadow of what he was last season.

Unless the Sox score in the 5th and get a lead, Sale will be almost into May with an 0-4 record and 7.43 ERA. Starters as a group are 2-11. But I think it is the hitters, outside of JDM, who are just as responsible for the slow start

Your pen is a lip sticked pig and you all know it

Yankees are doing something right. Still an above average team when it comes to the bats. On paper we have a dynamic offensive team, but if people actually watch the games we are a shell of what we were last season.

Be that as it may, and it may eventually fall flat..... until then they are playing some decent baseball. It's about the only thing I can say that has been consistent with this team so far.... Although the starting rotation may have got it going...... maybe

Wrong. The only change is dumping Kelly who sucked last regular season and getting rid of Kimbrel.

i wonder if Tzu Wei looks at video of his AB's. Even on the double his back foot is off the ground and not planted. He will never improve as a hitter if he can't cure that.

BENI bluffed a bunt into a 0-1 count. Really good idea BENI. He is having a great day along with the rest of them.

THEY ARE PITIFUL....P..I..T..I..F..U..L

This offense is dreadful right now.

I'm glad I am working and just following on ESPN. Doesn't look like I am missing too much.

Here's another winnable game against a mid level team , playing in your park Hembree does what he can to make it a comeback win. The BP is not fooling anyone over the course of the season.

Some day our younger hitters are going to have to learn not to just give up strikes and get down in counts for it. Beni has absolutely not learned that yet for one. Beni has gone to 0-1 twice today for no particular reason other than brain dead in the batters box.

Pitching 5 innings does not qualify as a quality start for me; especially from the guy who's supposed to be the Ace. Another game to wear out the BP and expose them more than they should be.

Agreed. Sale seemingly has his fastball (velocity is still down a bit but shouldn't be enough to impact him this much) but he just doesn't seem to have it all together and still throwing a crap ton of pitches. He has so far had one solid game and 1 average game at best through 5 starts now? Very concerning to say the least.

Boyd came into the game with a 2.96 ERA and was 5th in the AL in K's. He's certainly more 'special' than any starter the SOX have right now.

Figured I better offer up my obligatory I HATE HEMBREE post. He might not be around later to get it in.
