Again, you guys are implying that his market value 2 years from now is going to be the same as it is today. If he suffers a career ending injury in July it will impact his future value. I didn't know we had so many nostradamus's on this board.

I am a bit more irritated tonight about Cora and the Coaching staff blaming Swi for not "sticking to the plan" with Erod in his start. If the plan is throwing Changeups in hitters eyes, that plan SUCKS ASS!

If the SOX were in the NFL with a 1-4 start, it might be time to panic. But, shite, this MLB is a marathon. Every team goes into a slump; it just looks worse at the beginning of the season.

Maybe but 1-4 becomes 1-5 and then 1-6 and 1-7. You have to then get on a winning streak to get back to 500. This team looks downright terrible.

I guess VAZ has been "sticking to the plan.'

The SOX could still come home at 7-4. But then I could win the megabucks lottery. About the same odds.

That’s looking very bleak at the moment. To say i am not surprised is shocking. This team looked bad in spring trainer. They better get their act together .

We are going to run out of people to blame and its only April 2nd. Its the starting pitchers, no Hembree sucks, no its the hitters (some are fat), no its Devers who will break the seasons errors for a ML 3rd baseman. It must be Cora, lets blame him.

The rotation is for s*** at present. That is the one constant for the first 5 games. My only complaint about Cora and the coaching staff is that ERod pitched about like ERod has pitched his entire career here as a Starter....8,000 pitches per start, can't get past the 5th inning. So I don't see how it made sense to throw Swi under the bus. I am not a big Swi fan as he still IMO has to chase too many pitches to the backstop. But he didn't deserve that in the face of ERod pitching TRUE TO FORM.

I guess this settles the question of whether the catchers are calling the pitches during the game.

Forcing Swihart while shelving Leon may end up a mistake. None of the three catchers can hit, so it’s not like you’re gaining much with Swihart. Leon, at the very least, seems to be helpful to the pitching staff. That being said, DD knew that paying Leon over $2 mil would ensure he stays in the system, so it’s a moot point in the end. I think the Sox give Swi a good month and then cut bait with him and add Leon back to the roster

For once we agree on something. I think DD is just giving Swi his shot at staying and at the same time trying to extract some value if he trades him. Throwing Swi under the bus helps neither effort.
