The BABIP is high, but the point of BABIP is that it’s not completely in control of the pitcher...

i was agreeing with you

Sam Travis would be replacement level in AAAA. He hasn’t even learned AAA.

Travis is learning a new position this year - DFA.

But if the Sox had let Swihart try his hand at spelling Moreland, it might have gone a long way to eliminating the roster logjam. And I assume Swihart is still with this team because Dombrowski has some faith in him. Apparently it’s not enough faith to be a weak side platoon...

I believe Swihart will play DFA too.

Jenrry Mejia, my choice for closer, is having a rough Spring Training outing against the Baltimore Orioles:

Don Mattingly will never be inducted into the HOF. Ortiz will be.

i wonder if mattingly and Ortiz show each other their World Series rings they won as players?

oh wait...only 1 of them has any.....

my bad.

Well-known sources as usual!

You just go on Google and grab whatever pops up. :D

Gee two Yankee fans for sources. And one of them likes to let his graphs stand alone while omitting crucial information...

the point of the ring comparison is that neither of those guys are currently in the HoF.

munson isnt so he can compare his 2 with David Ortiz. well, until Papi goes into the Hall in a couple more years.....

I wonder if Reggie Jackson and jim rice compare WS rings ...........

Or Joe Dimaggio and ted williams ........

or Thurman Munson and carlton fisk

I wonder if Mookie and Judge are comparing rings.

And Stanton, you know, since he decided to eliminate all teams but the 4 LCS participants when choosing a trade destination. That worked out really well.

For Boston...

Anyone else find it concerning that we still don't have an answer to this?

Brasier barely pitched 2 innings and Matt Barnes was terrible.

Travis Lakins and Marcus Walden were probably our best options given their years last year and their springs this year....neither will make the team.

At least you are comparing contemporaries.

Mattingly and papi were not.

And as far as Judge and mookie are concerned, I'll wait till the end of their respective careers to visit that.......

Geez, there are literally hundreds to pick from concerning papi and PEDs.

And CBS is not "well-known"??!!

Spring Training games don’t usually mean much to players who know they’re on the team. Barnes has been around long enough that we know who he is (and some of us do have more faith in him than you do). Brasier? I do have more questions about him. It’s not like his 33 IP in the past several seasons combined answers everything. Like - why was he out of MLB for so long?

I expect fringe guys like Lakins and Walden to try their hardest to make an impression, but we’ve seen in the past that the ability to dominate AAAA players in ST and MLB players who are just trying to not get hurt doesn’t always translate into success when those same MLB players do start trying....
