The Nationals tried to acquire him last year and reportedly the price tag was both Juan Soto and Victor Robles. I don’t think the Sox can come close to that without including Devers..,

For the right piece i would give the green light on devers. Much easier to find a Devers than a Realmuto

I’m ok with Vázquez and Devers.

Besides the Marlins might want Devers plus. They wanted Soto plus last year and Soto was a monster....

how many years of control does he have?

fa 2021

Honestly more control than I thought, he's going into his first arb year.

I can't see a deal we could to that would make it worth it. Not for what they'll ask.

I see it as one of those pie in the sky suggestions. It won't happen.

An elite catcher is as valuable as an elite ace. This might actually be one of those rare situations where the incredibly high price tag is worth it, similar to the Sale acquisition.

Don't get me wrong, I love the defensive wizardry of our current two catchers, but being able to upgrade to a middle of the order bat without sacrificing very much on D is incredibly tempting.

Offensive catcher numbers can tank very quickly. Pass.

I agree, they can. But tell me, is it your honest opinion that Realmuto is likely to decline significantly in the next 3 years?

We're talking about an acquisition that would line up almost perfectly with our current championship window and represent a tremendous upgrade at the single most important position (other than #1 starter) in baseball.

Devers is 6 years younger. I'd keep him unless it was a one for one deal. Then I'd have to think about it. The Marlins price tag is just too high.

Considering the normal career arc of any MLB player and its many pitfalls due to injury and other factors, any list like that is ging to have a few players who didn't achieve.

Seeing Victor Martinez and AJ Pierzynski on the list (as bad an experience as we had with AJ, he was an all star caliber catcher for a very long career), consider me still intrigued.

I think the bidding war for him would be pretty strong with teams with a lot stronger farms than the sox.

That leaves out the Red Sox. Bleacher Report ranked their farm 28 out of 30....

That friggin Dombrowski! He has ruined our future. lol

Sanchez has a special bat. He’s way better than we saw. He’s got a cannon behind the plate. He just gets lazy and he lacks quickness. If his work ethic behind the dish doesn’t improve, then I’m happy to see him DH. He will hit this year.

Based on how he hit through the minors and the season he was called up.

Pitchers have caught up to him. Sorry, he sucks now. Just look at his last season. That's the rules. NEGATIVE OWAR DH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I guess devers doesn't have a future either then........

Yankees would never make that trade. Sanchez is a future HOFer!

Sanchez wouldnt even have made our Postseason roster......

When Sanchez was Devers' age, he was still playing in Peoria in front of 50 people. Nice try though sport!
