Yes they are but the Astros were supposed to be the best team even though we won more games. That said your right it’ll be really tough. Both have great pitching and good hitting.

The Sox were better than the Yanks. The Sox were more poised than the Astros. I haven’t seen a defending champ so lifeless once punched in the mouth. They took game 1. Game two didn’t go their way. They battled a bit in 3 and 4, but once the lead was given back, they turtled. Game 5, they just gave up. Have never seen that before. It’s almost like the Astros just became contented around that one ring. Just an embarrassing performance for Houston
Sox punched both the Yankees and the Astros in the mouth and neither could get up. That is an ass kicking in both series.

The Sox pressured the Astros to such an extent that the obvious shortfalls in this years Astros v last year's team were exposed. But the Sox pushed them there. It took everything the Sox had early in the series to put the Astros down. I will grant those that want to claim the Astros lost this series that once pushed there, the Astros did not respond and then AJ got to a panic. But a champion does not just fold his tent. You have to pull up his tent pegs, roll it up with him inside, stuff him in the bag and zip it up. That is exactly what the Sox did to the Astros.

What are Felger and Mazz going to complain about tomorrow? They will probably say the Astros were a garbage team. That's how they run their garbage show.

No knock on the dodgers or brewers but i felt this was the best team in MLB this season. We have one more series to prove it.

Don’t count either of those teams out. Especially the Dodgers. They have a really good team. That won’t be an easy series.

If they win the whole shebang, I will agree.

Saying it before the playoffs started is more ballsy.

Same with Cora being the best Sox manager.

Same with believing JBJ was a hitter (too).

(Note: I've got a a lot wrong, too.)

The thing that does stand out in this series is the amount of fortitude the Sox brought to bear to pressure the Astros right where they were vulnerable. The Astros are a great ball club. So its not like the Astros went from 2017 Champs to 2018 horse dung. The Sox never lost sight of what they needed to do to win this series. Never changed a thing offensively. Made line up changes but the guys playing never took their eyes off the prize, never changed their approach and forced the Astros to succumb to that pressure and flip out in the process.....Just a fabulous performance and a well deserved ALCS win....just outstanding.

I hope that if Sale is healthy enough to pitch in the WS, it won't screw up the rotation. ;)

Save Sale for warmer climes...

Gm 1 Eovaldi (Sale in the pen, if needed)

Gm 2 Price (Porcello in the pen)

Gm 3 Sale

Gm 4 Porcello

Gm 5 Eovaldi

Gm 6 Price

Gm 7 Sale (Porcello & Eovaldi in the pen)

JBJ had to be pushed to a career changing moment to recover his season. He was not a hitter all the way up to when he started going opposite field as a means to tame his demons. I really don't know if this is a real career corner for him. It is without question a career recovery as he was well on the way to defensive specialistville.

Impressive to beat a 100 win team with our best starter hurt/sick and the top of the lineup fairly quite. I still can't believe this bullpen has out pitched the Yankees and Astros.

All year, Cora got the most out of this pen.

They certainly had their down times, but they have been outstanding, when it counts most!

I've always felt JBJ could hit.

I think part of the reason GMs always asked about JBJ was that they felt a tweek here or a tweek there could bring JBJ to life on offense.

It took Cora and his staff to snap JBJ into a groove that is now 4 months long and counting.

Another key piece of evidence to support my claim that Cora is the best Sox manager of all time.

Kimbrel, dont f*** this up.

I'm glad to see all the panic here. I went to the bar for the last three innings and was losing my mind when Kimbrell came in, but no one else seemed to care.

So what are we looking at here?

Sale

Price

Eovaldi

Porcello

I hope we win that first one.

If it’s the Dodgers we are going against Kershaw. That will be the toughest win. If yes I like that starting rotation a lot.
