99 wins.

Best record in MLB.

6th best pen ERA.

7th most k's for a pen (only 17th most innings).

7th best pen BAA.

I think Cora has figured it out just fine.

I don't know how to use those little faces, so have to depend on people being able to discern when I'm saying something so insane it has to be ironic/facetious. Cora should by now made believers of all us, but I still read sarcastic comments in game threads about how and when he uses the bullpen.

Could it be that no matter who he chooses, they will fail?

I thought he did a great job last night.

Well that's two of you who think I was serious. I tried to say something so outlandish that no one could believe I meant it. I thought this was a dead giveaway: "And it's so simple. Just bring in the right guy at the right time." We have seen Brasier, Kimbrel, and just about everyone be the wrong guy in a given game. What saved Farrell's job in I think the 2016 season was the bullpen suddenly got very, very effective in September.

Just use an LOL or (sarcasm) or something like that.

Cora always has a plan and he is always in the game. I, along with many others, was wondering why he pulled Moreland back in favor of Holt. Even if Holt had struck out, Cora had a very good rationale for making that move. Holt's HR made Cora look like a genius. The dude has the Midas touch.
Yes, that is how I would describe it. Cora is always in the game and ahead of the situation. I first started to realize this when he got tossed in that Yankee game. The instant that umpire issued warnings (1st inning), Cora was out of the dugout and all over the ump holding his feet to the fire. Farrell would have had a befuddled look on his face. Cora took action instantly and it was in no way a temper tantrum. It wasn’t a move to rally his team. He made his point. If you issues a warning, you should throw out their pitcher, and by the way, you had better let my guy throw inside. He commanded the situation.

His alertness and command of the situation has become more clear since the roster has expanded. He managed the situation and not by formula. Farrell and many other managers have their heads in charts when they should be watching the game. Cora must do his stat and chart study before the game— when it should be done! He is on top of every pitch and every play. I have questioned several of his moves this past week, including pinch hitting Holt for Moreland. He has definitely had the Midas touch and I don’t think it is merely randomness at work. He puts his guys in the best position to succeed. Farrell would make moves that I questioned and usually they flopped, but in 2013 his team would pick him up later in the game. When Cora makes a move that I question, more often than not, the move works. His team doesn’t have to make up for his mistakes. I will probably continue to question his moves. It is part of watching the game for me, but Cora has my confidence.

Well said and I agree. Cora is now trying to determine his postseason plan.

There is nothing wrong with questioning his moves. What I take issue with are the comments (not from anyone in particular) that imply that Cora is blind, or clueless, or something along those lines. He is far from anything like that. He has solid rationale for his moves and he knows what he is doing, despite the fact that sometimes a move does not work out.

Yes, I agree that he does. Not every move will work out, but he does have a solid plan. Many managers, including Farrell, don't have solid rationales, imo.
