Interesting that the Guardians, who have very good starters and relievers and a very good offense and defense have such a mediocre won/lost record. They also play in the weakest division in the AL. Is it time to fire Tito?

Eovaldi did a nice job, but Cora, the overrated manager, as he's done in the past, left him in too long. Does Cora have any instincts when his pitcher is losing it? It appears not.

Pure 20-20 hindsight. If it was so obvious, why no posts from you saying that Eovaldi had lost it?

Well Cora does have a difficult job that is likely to get harder. I still think he is going to have to resign himself to trying to give his starter a chance to get out of a jam even when tiring and in the 5th or 6th inning because he does not have a pen that can come in to ducks on the pond. He is better off giving his starter a chance to get out of a jam and give the relief pitcher, whomever he is, a clean inning. So that means he is going to have to know these starters good enough to know when they have given him everything they have on that night. After that....my God...it could well be a parade from that bullpen just trying to find somebody not giving up a run just to get an out each time.

Of course, if the starter doesn't get out of it, then all the armchair managers can say I told you so.

Just like last year, they got off to a poor start and have turned it on as the season has progressed.

I am not even sure some of the guys in that bullpen can deal with a clean inning late (6th or 7th inning) in a tight game under post season pressure.

Hey did anybody catch that early in the game. Were they saying that they were surprised that Gibby was still managing because the Jays have already announced that he is not coming back next year? Anybody have anything on that? Are they FINALLY done with Gibby up there?

Cora has been making moves like crazy the last few game -- really using the expanded bench, but Holt PH'ing for Moreland I don't get.
Cora, is the mad scientist on the bench! His moves are working.

Any more questions as to the best manager the Red Sox have EVER had?

Wait to see if Kelly doesn't blow it before you say that comment.

Sunday's game even though they won was poorly managed
