Today the Sox are headed for a doubleheader having used six relievers last night: Workman, Pom, Hembree, Brasier, Barnes, and Kelly. Workman threw 24 pitches, Pom 20, Hembree 27, Brasier 8, Barnes 14, and Kelly 16. To make matters more interesting, the night before last Porcello only went 4 innings while giving up 8 runs. Then Workman threw 10 pitches, Velazquez 25, and Thornburg 24.

 

The bullpen could use a rainy day in August.

It looks like they might get the first game in. If you can believe Weather.com it's isolated thunderstorms starting @ 3:00 and it gets worse after that until after midnight.

 

High heat and high humidity usually leads to those isolated T-storms but they're unpredictable.

And no, I'm not a weatherman and I don't play one on television. That's just my observation after having seen 65+ summers.

I know we want to blame all of these empty seats on localized Baltimore issues but MLB is headed for a disaster of a year in attendance. TV ratings holding to last year's numbers which makes some sense.

They might be falling into Cora's strategy and figuring they are always going to score late and often That is fine for Cora to think that way. He's the manager. It's not a great idea if the players are thinking that way.

If MLB had any common sense, this game would have re-started with the Sox ahead 5-0 in the 2nd.
