RHP Rick Porcello (14-4, 3.84) vs LHP Ryan Borucki (1-2, 2.30)

My schedule is kind of wacky today, so I'm making this now. Just complete the sweep and life will continue to be good. Win. Dance. Repeat. x7

The Jays hit both of our lefty starters, especially the dingers, so maybe Porcello can pitch another gem. Meanwhile, the hitting is unreal. However, the Jays are going with a lefty, Borucki, so we will just have to see.

Borucki has pitched really well for the most part. He has gone at least 6 innings in 6 out of 7 starts. The only start in which he didn't last at least 6 innings?

When he pitched against the Red Sox and gave up 7 runs in 3+ innings.

'Nuff said.

WIN!!!

Borucki's 5 most recent starts (excluding the Sox) were some really s***** teams: SEA (in a super slide), 3 AL Central teams, NYY (yuck). He's basically a two pitch pitcher since his slider is so bad. They'll be ready for him.

Leon rested Monday, an off day, and had now caught two games with 3 at Camden Yards coming up, including starts by Price and Sale. Assuming Cora won't want Sandy to catch 6 straight games, I figure Butler will start tonight or tomorrow night (with Eovaldi on the mound)--probably tonight.

Other than that, I see tonight's lineup as like last night's, except for Butler in for Leon and Pearce in for Moreland. Plus maybe Cora wants someone to have a rest day even though Monday is another day off.

I'm sure Cora is hesitant to start Butler, but Leon needs some more time off. Eventually, catching this many games is going to catch up with him.

Hopefully, Swihart and Vaz return soon.

Cora said Leon starts today, Butler will start in Baltimore

The Red Sox are 25-1 in Sandy Leon’s last 26 starts.

Lately there were a few that it looked like the sox might lose until Sandy came up with a key late inning hit.

I'm really excited to see if last start's amazing performance by Porcello will be followed up or not. Maybe he and Eovaldi can have a scoreless innings competition :)

Well, that's a--what did I read in last night's game thread?--travesty. Another rookie mistake. Will this nightmare never end?

Keep it up and you could get to 22 catches.

The earliest for Swihart is the 14th while Vaz is around the end of August. The finger was expected to heal up in 6 to 8 weeks from the surgery plus sme time to get in a game or two in AAA.

six righties including Leon. Plus I think Holt hits lefties better than righties.

As much as I am a fan of Vazquez, I have to give Leon the props.

He is the King.

This team would be winning with Salti behind the plate.

Maybe not as many games. But they would be winning a lot of them.

What about Doug Mirabelli?

The 14th isn't too far away.

I agree, but I do think that Leon is doing a better job this year than Vaz.
