Pomeranz is going to get another couple of starts

 

If the Red Sox give him one more start, it will be a huge mistake. Time to move him to the bullpen. They can't give away games and starting Pomeranz will give away games. He has no fastball anymore and relies solely on his curve. That's not good enough.

Bad ass game... giving the lead right back after a couple of surprising "game winning" homers, and then the rains come with martinez at the plate. May they wait forever to get this one in.... tomorrow's game prob a wash out anyway.

 

This is an important game for the O's to lose, if they want to be assured of the number 1 draft pick.

POM's body language on the mound reminds me of my own when I'd arrive at work on Monday morning.

 

He was hang dogging it in the dugout after being pulled. The guy just does not seem to have much confidence in being able to command the situation. His pitches reflect that as they rattle off the seats in LF.

Agreed. The sample size is large enough now. For the most part, he didn't even pitch well against minor league hitters.

He shouldn't have had the opportunity to pitch the 5th inning.

 

I had no problem with him starting the inning against the bottom of the order. But given the conditions, they needed to have somebody up and ready at the first sign of trouble.

Whatever happens to POM, he already has enough money to live comfortably the rest of his life, as long as he stays away from drugs.

At the very least the Sox are 10-2 against the O's. Would you rather be the Yankees, who are 5-5?

 

I think the yanks are 6-1 against Guardians, and we have 7 games coming up against them. I doubt we'll match that. And in recent past the Yanks have done better vs the Os than we have. (according to my subjective memory which I think is fairly accurate)

 

The anger isn't in losing this game but in the way it has been lost (should it not continue)

It might help his game if he just showed a little emotion on the mound. It doesn't have to be John Lackey emotion, but, damn, just look like you're happy to be out there.

Only from last year they will give him a couple more starts. It’s a shame seeing what has happened to him from last year though I wish he would return to his old self. But man has he ever been ugly this season.

I read a post earlier about the SOX adopting a 6 man rotation as the season progresses, It may be more realistic at this point to adopt a 4 man rotation.
