Well, at least he didn't walk Bird on the 3-2 pitch. It will be illuminating to see how our Ace Sale responds tomorrow, and whether anyone brings a bat to bash Sonny Boy Gray

I expect a victory tomorrow. Anything short of that would be a failure by this team especially after this thumping tonight.

While Rome burned, Nero fiddled. While Rome burned, I'm here posting bad jokes about Haley.

Best to use Haley here and let the Yankees pad their stats. Save our higher quality guys for a winnable game. The concern is that our lineup didn't produce tonight.

I think the extra 4 games played by Boston has worn them out vs the well rested Yankees. Cora should have played his AAAA lineup tonight to rest everyone who needs it.

The Sox faced a pitcher tonight, while the Yankees feasted on a couple of throwers.

Plus that long plane ride to Gotham.

It had nothing to do with being tired. It had everything to do with a pitcher who knows how to pitch and hitters who refuse to alter their approach to him, making said pitcher’s job easier.

CC gets by on soft contact. He gets ahead of hitters then gets them to swing at a good pitch in the zone or a pitch out of the zone. His command is impeccable and the movement he generates is ridiculous. The best way to hit CC is to hit him early in the count when he is trying to get ahead. Once he is ahead, it's lights out

A coaching staff of Sabathia and Colon would be hard to beat. They learned how to pitch. Old men wise pitchers who learned the tricks

Colon throws the same pitch with extreme command. His sinker lost 8 mph over the past three years, which is why he’s been bashed the last few years, but his ability to stick in the majors is a testament to extreme command of a moving pitch (and PEDs). CC doesn’t stack pitches at all. He only throws a 4 seamer 18% of the time. He throws the cutter and slider (really a soft curve now) over 30% of the time each and the change 13% of the time. He’s a true crafty lefty. When his pitches are moving where he wants them to, you cannot barrel him up

Yanks are hitting .257 against Lefties this year, but lead the Majors with a .820 OPS against Lefties. Sox are almost 100 points lower against Lefties in OPS .724.

Big reason Yanks have good record against Lefties, is they hit HRS against them. Lead the Majors in Slugging % against Lefties.

In short, they may not have the best BA against Lefties, but when they hit them its going a long way.
