So in other words, you can't answer the question.

Baseball is an inconsistent game; if you can't figure that out, you are going to always be miserable as a fan.

This team will make the playoffs but boy this lineup will really need to make a big turnaround to do anything once the postseason comes.

The Sox scored 4 off Manaea the 2nd time they saw him, though. And I think if they see LeBlanc next week, they will do better as well. You still have to execute the pitches and there's no way LeBlanc can execute any better than he did tonight.

Yea...we scored 3 ER's in 7 innings the second time around and LOST in Boston. We can't be creaming our pants when one of our guys has one of these so called quality starts and then call it some sort of victory when a guy no-hits us in one park and then goes 7 giving up 3 ER's and wins again in our park.

Still does not change the reality of being vulnerable to LH pitchers that feature a Change. In fact, we have really not been the same hitting team since the first Maneae game.

I was hoping this team would stick close to the Yankees in the division but they might run away with this. Yankees just look more consistent. Their lineup’s clearly better than ours. I been surprise with their pitching.

Swihart has no role on this team. Does anyone still want to wast a roster spot on him/

Amazing how he looked at one point. Looks like it was just a mirage.

That was like the 20th game of the year; can we really say the team hitting before that game was the real Sox or are the current genre more realistic?

OTOH, I note that Manaea's no hitter was also on a Saturday; so can we say that the Red Sox are vulnerable to left handers with change-ups pitching on Staurday's on the west coast?:D

I would not be going that far just yet. But we do need to do something with Swihart and get more heft off the bench and we are going to have to deal at some point with the entire league knowing we are super vulnerable to LHers that feature the change. If we don't we are going to be seeing them coming out of the woodwork when push comes to shove. Guys will be lining up their pitching staffs to match up with our weakness and we will end up wondering why nobody is hitting.

Only problem is there really is nobody right now who merits a promeotion. Lin I guess, but he's a meh.

Excuse me but you are whistling past the graveyard of you don't think this will haunt us. It already is haunting us.

True, but if and when Pedey comes back, the roster move should be a foregone conclusion.

Son, you done got whupped by superior talent. Nice try boys, but not quite ready for primetime in Seattle.

There aren't THAT many guys out there who throw like that, and there certainly aren't pitching staffs loaded with them.

Relax.

JBJ is bad, pathetic.

When our best hitters are overmatched, I don't think many of us would expect the much weaker hitters to do anything. It appeared to be the case tonight. That's why its so important to win the games where we hold a lead late. There will be games like this.

That closer is dirty. Just woke up. How the heck did Wade Leblanc shut them down?

By going Manaea/Sabathia on steroids. Perfect location, never two pitches in the same place or at the same speed. Warren Spahn would have been proud.

Mariners flashed some leather as well.
