I am convinced just from having seen him so many years that Holt put on a bit of weight this off season which he has done before. This time his body looks to be mature enough to carry the weight I think it has helped him this year.

He did. I remember in preseason that they were talking about him bulking up with a weight training program. Now that he is completely over his concussion issues he is looking pretty good out there.

I'm trying to pay attention to the game but right now there is a raccoon scaling a skyscraper in St. Paul, and you should all definitely follow this story. This is going to be my night now and I really hope he makes it.

Much as I admire them (the same way I admire rats and red squirrels), I hate them. But as long as he stays there, and doesn't send any of his progeny here, I wish him well. (Meanwhile, Devers, Holt, Vasquez, and Nunez all need to be DFA'd to make room for a mediocre relief pitcher).

Don't most players lose weight during the season? I thought I heard that before. Just a thought, but Holt had a couple years where he faded in the second half, maybe him gaining strength is a move to combat that.

And yea, the concussion did him in last year.

I swear if you told Eddie to go to 3-2 on every hitter he could hardly do it more than he does.

Devers made an adjustment in his stance, right? Going away from that Crawford-esque set-up?

Bradley.

Nuff sad.

At this point he is going to end up at half a Mendoza line on something like 300-400 AB's and there will not be another GM in the league that will believe that. They will be calling DD to tell him there is a typo in JBJ's official stats. DD will say "Yea thanks but NO".

E-Rod is doing his usual thing. Keeps the runs down but the pitch count up. 9 base runners in 5 innings and 95 pitches. He says he wants to throw more strikes but keeps on nibbling. He is getting it done but after a use of the BP last night it would have been good not to have to use them for 4 more tonight.

Like no one knew this was coming? This is who he is. He is the Matsusaka of Venezuela.
