Did Devers just foul that off the bounce?

No, but he was darned close to it. That is one thing....He is going to have to get a little more selective at the plate. He swings at stuff that Yogi would not swing at and if Yogi would not swing at it, thats saying something.

Vlad Guerrero he's not.

I'd like to see Bogaerts try and take 2nd here. May not work but you have to be a little aggressive in a game like this.

Hah. Talksox would disapprove vehemently. Our rule is "take no chances on the basepaths. Be cautious. No extra bases if there is the remotest chance you won't make it. We must eliminate wasted outs at all costs."

I miss Holt. You can't play Devers, Nunez, Vazquez, Bradley all at once. They have no judgement of the strikezone.

Well they are in good company tonight. I've seen no hits from Betts, JDM, or Moreland. Or did I miss one? Did you see some hits by those three?

Is it remotely possible--and this is a stretch--that Bundy is pitching effectively? Nah. Couldn't be.

Devers is pretty funny to watch at the plate. If its actually a decent pitch to hit, he is out of his shoes, laces busted, belt flying off his waist..the whole nine. Then there are these awful pitches that he just can't resist that he probably would undress himself swinging at if he could. But the pitches are so bad he just can't. Ah to be young again!

Yup. You nailed it. Holt would have been the difference maker tonight and fixed the hitlessness of Betts, JDM, and Moreland. Cora is such an idiot.

Well you got Jim Palmer saying Devers is over swinging. Thing is, isn't anybody on the red sox coaching staff telling him this? I'd like to think so.

Both him and Bradley. With two strikes they need to shorten their swing.

Meanwhile, this is the game right here. Kelly gets Jones or we are in a lot of trouble.

This a bad bad place to see Jones. If he gets motivated around getting a hit he is very hard to turn into an out.

Nope. But Holt should have played instead of Nunez v the RHP. Thats a no brainer.

Weird part is Holt has really good numbers against Bundy (something like 6-11) while Nunex came in 1-5. But maybe Holt is under the weather or something. We don't always hear about those things.

Machado apprently isn't playing due to some ailment.

Great move by Cora to go to Kelly there. Wright wasn't necessarily losing it, two of those base runners were on fluke plays, but Jones for whatever reason hits the knuckleball well. Kelly made him look hopeless.

Another fantastic outing by Wright.

Going to Kelly has been a great move most of the season.
